Being in control of your emotions puts you in charge of your destiny and increases the trust and respect you earn from others. Mastering emotional control gives you power when you lose it, you lose your power too.

Whether we are conscious of it or not, we decide every instant how to respond to the events of life, whether it is an insult hurled our way, a rude gesture, or an embroiling conflict. We may talk faster, speak at a higher frequency, or interrupt or rattle on as a means of dominating the conversation.
