Boston, MA, January 29, 2010 -- Brainloop, the leading supplier of software solutions for high-security management of confidential documents, today announced it has joined the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio). Brainloop appealed to MassBio as a member based on the strengths of Brainloop's highly secure online work space for outlicensing and collaboration that provides secure document management and 24/7 global access. Brainloop is the first partner accepted into MassBio that offers an application for collaboration and licensing transactions.

"As a company with specific expertise in the life sciences sector, Brainloop is a valuable member of our council," said Robert Coughlin, MassBio President & CEO. "Their Secure Dataroom platform is poised to play a leading role in the biotechnology industry as it becomes more global in its collaborations and partnerships."

As a web-based application, the Brainloop Secure Dataroom allows businesses to share confidential documents across widespread networks of employees and partners - whether they are inside or outside the company. Bank-grade encryption, secure document presentation and a tamper-proof audit trail of all document accesses and related communications provide unrivaled document security within an easy-to-use and easy to implement solution.

"Members of MassBio will find our solution ideal for executing their licensing transactions or collaboration projects more efficiently," said Brainloop President Uli Mittermaier. "The application allows them to disseminate information to discovery teams, CROs and development partners across the globe. Sophisticated security controls help them to protect their intellectual property and reduce risk."

Brainloop was introduced to MassBio by one of its first Massachusetts life sciences customers and long term Brainloop user, Dyax Corp. Says Mark de Souza, Ph.D., Vice President of Business Development at Dyax Corp., "We use Brainloop to set up and manage our secure data rooms. It's very easy for us to define different levels of access privileges, control whether specific individuals are allowed to print or forward documents, and create personalized watermarks each time a user downloads a document. Brainloop service is exceptional - in the years that we have worked with them, they've always responded to our questions and service requests promptly, professionally, and thoroughly."

Brainloop, the leading supplier of software solutions for high-security management of confidential documents, today issued a white paper that presents how businesses can improve data security without making it difficult for users to do their jobs.

Boston, MA, December 13, 2009 -- Brainloop, the leading supplier of software solutions for high-security management of confidential documents, today issued a white paper that presents how businesses can improve data security without making it difficult for users to do their jobs. The white paper - "Security Policy: Five Keys to User Compliance" - provides specific best practices that businesses can follow to facilitate user productivity while automatically ensuring safe document sharing practices.

"Within each best practice, users are unhindered by security procedures and are able to conduct their work in a transparently secure environment," said Brainloop President Uli Mittermaier. "The collaboration environment created by sound best practices streamlines processes and improves efficiency, which actually leads users to making it their preferred work environment."

From the IT perspective, the Brainloop white paper demonstrates how the deployment of a transparently secure work space eliminates the need to force heavy-handed security policies on reluctant users. Policies are enforced automatically, resulting in more consistent adherence to security policy. Because users are able to comply with security policy without even knowing it, the best practices reduce tension between IT and users in addition to producing several business benefits:

“¢ Increased productivity and mobile efficiency
“¢ Improved governance efficiency and regulatory compliance enablement
“¢ Enhanced communication and oversight in collaboration and bidding processes
“¢ Reduced need for costly, time-consuming and inconvenient travel and shipping of physical documents.

The need for a transparent security solution such as the one described in the Brainloop white paper is illustrated in an October 13 article, Playing the Human Factors, by Alan Radding that appeared at BusinessFinanceMag.com. Within the article, Radding cites how according to Gartner, 84 percent of data loss incidents involve authorized parties distributing content externally. The article reports that this data point was contained in a CERT Insider Threat Study titled, Understanding the Risks & Defending the Enterprise. The cost of that loss, according to 30 percent of survey respondents, exceeded $500,000.

"Transparent security is a win for everyone, including IT, users and the business," said Mittermaier. "IT doesn't have to play a heavy security role and users aren't burdened with security tasks and therefore are able to focus on their actual work, with the result that the business gets better security and increased productivity."

Brainloop, the leading supplier of software solutions for high-security management of confidential documents (www.brainloop.com), today announced the company’s most recent coverage by a top-tier analyst firm.

Boston, MA, December 06, 2009 -- Brainloop, the leading supplier of software solutions for high-security management of confidential documents (www.brainloop.com), today announced the company’s most recent coverage by a top-tier analyst firm. Titled “Trusted SaaS Offerings for Secure Collaboration“ and written by Gartner, Inc. analysts Jay Heiser and David Gootzit (Report # ID G00164936), the report lists Brainloop among the vendors with SaaS and collaboration products that “offer the highest levels of trust based on support tasks with specific regulatory requirements for privacy, confidentiality and integrity.“

Brainloop is specifically listed as one of the vendors that provide support for mergers, acquisitions (M&A), and other investment banking activity. Gartner also notes that Brainloop’s data center is compliant with ISO/IEC 27001.

"We believe the reference to Brainloop within this Gartner report provides evidence that our customers find our service to be trustworthy, which is a key differentiator in the SaaS secure document sharing market," said Brainloop Inc. President Uli Mittermaier. "Our customers realize that our services provide a higher level of security than they are able to provide in-house. We also make it possible to collaborate on confidential documents for such things as biotech drug licensing, project collaboration and project finance as well as M&A due diligence and other applications that need to support document security compliance."

Earlier this year, Brainloop was included in an April 2009 Forrester Research report, titled “Market Overview: The M&A Management Tools Market in 2009.“ This report by Forrester analyst Daniel Krauss, with Jonathan Penn and Charles Green, includes Brainloop among virtual data room (VDR) vendors, a category that replaces traditional paper-based deal rooms for M&A transactions. Forrester attributes the rapid growth of VDR providers to the unique services and benefits they can provide.

Munich, Germany, November 27, 2009 -- With the sale for € 200 million of Lenbachgärten, a prestigious Munich office and hotel complex, the Austrian property company Immofinanz AG has finalized one of Germany's biggest real estate transactions in the Brainloop Secure Dataroom. Immofinanz used the web-based SaaS solution, which enables companies to quickly and securely share confidential documents, to collect and store all of the necessary information from the buyer and seller sides. The data room service was provided by the Austrian company EHL Immobilien, which organized and managed the property sale.

A total of four data rooms were set up for this highly complex transaction. One was provided for the five-star hotel The Charles, and one for each of the two office buildings that are a part of the complex. A further overarching data room was used for the corporate legal documents relating to the whole group of buildings. The building-specific data safes contained technical documents such as construction plans, tax-related information, rental agreements, and contracts with service companies. Over 45 users accessed the documents during the due diligence phase, while end-to-end security and document confidentiality were given the highest priority at all times. The documents could only be downloaded if they included a watermark. This made it clear which users were in possession of the confidential data and ensured the documents could not be forwarded indiscriminately to other people.

Franz Pöltl, from EHL Investment Consulting, comments: "We provide our clients with the Brainloop Secure Dataroom as a service they can use to quickly and securely share documents during the due diligence phase. Having a centralized, web-based document safe for all information relevant to the sale - such as the multiple contractual obligations with suppliers, tenants, and shareholders - is very helpful to firms conducting complex real estate transactions. It significantly accelerates the whole sales process while ensuring efficient project execution."

"From our perspective as the seller of this prime commercial property, we found the data room application easy to use," adds Eduard Zehetner, CEO of Immofinanz. "The familiar Windows Explorer-like structure made it easy to organize and store all the documents that the buyers would need. Our goal was cash optimization from asset disposal in a limited timeframe and in difficult market conditions - and we achieved that with the help of the Brainloop Secure Dataroom."
