Step 1. Install Kies to your PC.
Once you've downloaded the .exe, do the usual double click on the desktop icon to start the installer. This runs you through various steps such as choosing your country and language and what specific elements you want to install. Once you've finally installed Kies and booted it up, you see this nice user guide. This is useful, read it through and you’ll learn the basic features of Kies.

Step 2. Setup your Galaxy Tab for Kies connection.
Boot the Galaxy Tab device, press the Menu Key
In Menu mode, select “Settings-> Wireless and network->> USB settings->> Samsung Kies“.

Step 3. Connect your Galaxy Tab to the PC with a USB cable.
Kies will automatically detect the device. Your connected Galaxy Tab will appear as icons at the upper right corner of the screen in the order they have been connected.

Step 4. Exporting videos from PC to Galaxy Tab.
Click on “My Computer“ at the left top of Kies to open My Computer Window, and select the files you want to export. Drag and drop the selected items onto either the connected Galaxy Tab icon or the Device Browser window.

Step 5. Remove the Galaxy Tab device.
Close Kies, and click the “Safely remove hardware“ icon on the taskbar to remove Galaxy Tab from your PC. Now you can play the video files on Galaxy Tab freely. Hope this helps.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is an excellent media player that supports SD video clips as well as HD videos up to 1080p. Just one thing, make sure the video format and codec is supported by Galaxy Tab before you sync the videos to the tablet. Here are supported file formats by Galaxy Tab for your reference below:

Click on “Settings“ and set desired size, bitrate, frame rate, sample rate, etc. To reduce video file size, set lower bitrate. To improve video quality, set higher bitrate. To get 16:9 video on Motorola Atrix 4G, set video “Size“ to “1280*720“ or input “850*480“ in “Size“ box.

Step 4. Convert videos/Rip DVD to Motorola Atrix 4G supported format.
Click “Convert“ to start ripping DVD to Motorola Atrix 4G/converting MKV, AVI, MP4, WMV videos to Motorola Atrix 4G. The lower bitrate you set, the shorter it takes to complete the process. Step 1. Load Blu-ray Disc and set subtitle and audio language.
Hook the BD drive to your PC, Place the Blu-ray Disc you’d like to rip into BD drive. Run the Pavtube Blu-ray Disc Ripper software, and click “Blu-ray Disc/DVD ROM“ icon to load Blu-ray Disc from source drive. When your movie is now loaded as source, expand the folder and select the chapters to keep, and set subtitles as long as you like. Step 2. Choose output format for watching Blu-ray movie on 16*9 display.
Click the Format bar, and choose a desired format in “Common Video“ group. HD Video formats (1280*720, 1920*1080) are recommended for Blu-ray Disc. Here I select “HD Video>>DivX HD (*.avi) as output format. This format creates 1080p HD AVI video, which plays stunning on HDTV.

Step 3. Decide which method to follow for ripping anamorphic Blu-ray to HDTV.
A. Alter the 2.4:1 anamorphic Blu-ray movie to 1.78:1 ratio.
Click “Edit“ button enter the Video Editor, switch to “Crop“ tab, and drag the green frame in “Original Preview“ window to crop out black bars. Uncheck the “Output keep original aspect ratio“ box and click “OK“ to back to main interface of the Blu-ray Disc Ripper.

Pros: everything is preserved and the picture takes up the whole screen, without black boarders.
Cons: you lose the OAR (original aspect ratio) and the movie is stretched.

B. Crop the 2.4:1 anamorphic image to fit for 16:9 displays.
Click “Edit“ button enter the Video Editor, switch to “Crop“ tab, and drag the green frame in “Original Preview“ window to crop out black bars. Check the “Operation keep original aspect ratio“ and drag the green frame in the “Original Preview“ window to select the portion that you’d like to keep. Then click “OK“ to back to main interface.

Pros: you get full-screen display of the movie and not lose aspect ratio.
Cons: this results in a loss of more than 25% of the original image.

C. Use the 2.4:1 OAR (original aspect ratio) of Blu-ray Disc.
Click “Edit“ button enter the Video Editor, switch to “Crop“ tab, check “Output keep original aspect ratio“ box and click “OK“ to confirm.

Pros: you get BD movie clips played in the way that they are meant to be seen, like playing Blu-ray Disc with PS3 or a regular BD player.
Cons: the movie is letterboxing and there are black boarders on top and bottom.

Step 4. Start copying cropped Blu-ray Disc to hard drive.
When back to the interface, click the “Convert“ button to start cropping and converting Blu-ray Disc movie to hard drive. After conversion completes, click “Open“ to find converted movie.

Common aspect ratios using in DVDs and Blu-ray Discs:
1.33 (4:3)
35 mm original silent film ratio, today commonly known in TV and video as 4:3. Also standard ratio for MPEG-2 video compression. This format is still used in many personal video cameras today and has influenced the selection or design of other aspect ratios. It is the standard 16 mm and Super 35mm ratio.
1.78:1 (16:9)
Video widescreen standard, used in high-definition television, one of three ratios specified for MPEG-2 video compression. Also used increasingly in personal video cameras.
1.85:1
35 mm US and UK widescreen standard for theatrical film. Introduced by Universal Pictures in May, 1953. Projects approximately 3 perforations ("perfs") of image space per 4 perf frame; films can be shot in 3-perf to save cost of film stock.
2.35:1

I was so excited with the news that I performed a Blu-ray ripping process with CUDA vs. without CUDA test on my PC last night. Pavtube Studio claims 3X faster speed and 96min for ripping Avatar Blu-ray to 1080p MP4 on 4 cores PC with CUDA support (check for details here), well I do not own a fast PC and it took much longer to rip Inception BD“¦ Anyway, the results revealed that it is actually 2.7 times faster when CUDA is enabled! Here’re more details:

Test procedures
Step 1. Connect the external BD drive to PC, place in source Blu-ray Disc Inception. Ensure the desktop is networked. Install and launch the Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper v3.7 software (trial), click the BD icon to load Blu-ray Inception from BD drive.
Step 2. Select the main movie, click on the dropdown list of "Format", follow “HD Video“ and select “MKV HD Video (*.mkv)“ as output format. Click “Browse“ to set a folder for saving converted H.264 MKV files.
Step 3. Click "Convert" button to start ripping Inception to hard drive, and take down the test data when conversion completes.
Step 4. Click “CUDA“ icon to turn off GPU acceleration, and repeats Step 1 to Step 4.

Test results
It takes 16hrs (968mins) for ripping Inception Blu-ray to 1080p H.264 MKV with CUDA off comparing 6hrs (362mins) with CUDA on. Both of the conversions generate MKV file of 9.64GB. And both the file plays great in VLC Media Player. To conclude, the Blu-ray ripping speed is 2.67 times faster with CUDA enabled. I’ll call it an acceptable result for such a slow desktop. Hopefully the Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper can do better in future. Anyway, wish you luck with the implementation.
