(Submit Articles) Bizerba is systematically bringing POS trends to the scales and focussing on global partnerships.

Balingen, 3 February 2011 - Bizerba is focussing on cooperation with global partners. "The POS architecture of the last few years is being systematically integrated into the world of scales. For this purpose the equipment works in accordance with open standards, is SAP certified and ARTS compatible", said Tudor Andronic, Director of Global Retail Solutions for solutions provider Bizerba.
Â
Â
Amongst others the examples of application at the Euro-Shop included "digital merchandising" and "couponing" with the partners YeahPoint Australia, Online and Accardo. According to Andronic, innovative self-scanning and self-checkout systems are also important trends for the future.
Â
Bizerba is growing beyond the traditional scales business
Â
"This new structure of the product portfolio is enabling Bizerba to grow beyond the traditional scales business", said Peter Laudien-Weidenfeller, Director of Global Retail Sales at Bizerba. No scales provider, according to Laudien-Weidenfeller, is able to "provide all the functions alone, which, for example, a leading European company specialising in fish and seafood and having its own restaurants requires. Working together with Procom, a uniform architecture for counters, restaurants and table service restaurants has been developed". Meanwhile, the hardware is also more flexible: the K-class flex, the modular version of the K-class PC-scales allows individual scales and checkout modules to be integrated into the POS in a way that saves space. Standards and schemes such as UPOS and IXRETAIL are being systematically factored in.
Â
Fresh, efficient management: openness for all formats alleviates the complexity of the global process
Â
The continuously increasing number of fresh products requires a new way of thinking from food retailers and raises huge challenges: product flows must be centrally managed, controlled in real time and the respective local sales conditions must be adjusted. Together with the software family RetailFramework, Bizerba is creating the framework conditions to be able to quickly, pragmatically and uniformly meet these requirements. The principle of "openness" for all formats is also valid here: "heterogeneous customer environments which exist at the weighing systems of different manufacturers can be homogenously controlled. This web-based application alleviates the complexity of the global process", said Andronic in closing.

(Submit Articles) Balingen, 31st January 2011 - logistics companies are constantly faced with the challenge of delivering goods as quickly as possible. With the DWS system from Bizerba, packages can be measured, weighed, scanned and labelled in automatic continuous operation. The expansion of the label printer to a RFID coding unit allows sales management to prepare shipments for the fully-automated packaging process. The system has already proven to be efficient for a large number of package providers worldwide.
Â
Â
The determination of the volume weight plays a decisive role, particularly for large mail-order companies and forwarding agencies. "To charge 100 kilograms of cotton according to its weight would be uneconomical. However, the volume weight takes into consideration the space that a package occupies in relation to its actual weight and therefore becomes the basis of the charge if it turns out to be higher than the actual weight“, explains Dieter Conzelmann, Director of Industry Solutions at Bizerba.Â
Â
The system can also be used for intra-logistical purposes: for example, for the determination of a suitable storage location during the interim storage period or for the best utilisation of space in transportation vehicles. The CWL-Eco outloading scales used can also be integrated as individual element into already existing package shipment and sorting systems and feeding lines or used as a stand-alone solution for both filling quantity and unit weight controls and completeness and quality control checks. The scales have the programmes counting, tolerance control, serial error recognition and totalling.
Â
Bizerba will present the DWS system from 8th to 10th February at Logimat 2011 in Stuttgart, the international trade fair for distribution and the flow of material and information (Hall 3, Stand 521).
Â
And this is how it works: at the beginning, the package is identified on the conveyor line using its barcode and weighed using the dynamic outloading scales CWL-Eco. A volume measurement system (VMS) then determines the height, length and breadth of the package. The data is transmitted to the IT system of the customer and is then further processed using shipment software. The information gathered, in addition to the weight, the address of the recipient and the mode of shipment, is sent back to the DWS system. There, a GLM-B-Series printer prints and applies the corresponding parcel slip and sends the package number back to the IT system. This response is important for the sales management in order to allow for the tracking of shipments.
Â
The expansion of the printer to become a RFID coder can be carried out using the easy-link process without great expense or additional space requirements. The suitable RFID label with an integrated transponder is produced by the Bizerba labelling plant "Labels and Consumables“ in Bochum.
Â
Â
Unique weighing method
Â
The CWL-Eco scales work with interference-free string technology, which, as a unique weighing method, measures the mass and not the weight. The user can therefore install them almost anywhere in the world, without having to undergo recalibration due to the different degrees of gravitational force between the Pole and the Equator. According to Cozelmann "the force to be measured is directly transformed into a frequency signal. It omits the need for an analogue to digital conversion whereby the system has enhanced protection against interference and is faster.“
Â
Â
Extensive service network ensures short downtimes
Â
In order to ensure a high level of reliability for all installed components one thing is necessary: a well-organised and quick-response service. "The hotline is a free basic service which is available 24-hours a day, even at the weekend and during holidays. Within the scope of individual contracts, further modules comprise a 24-hour repair service, 24-hour trouble shooting, preventive maintenance checks on-site as well as auditing checks in accordance with to ISO standards“, says Robert Keller, Director of Business Services at Bizerba. Furthermore, within the so-called e-service contracts, Bizerba also offers remote monitoring of hardware and software solutions. In this way, downtimes are reduced reliably and cost-efficiently.

(Submit Articles) Balingen, 20. January 2011 ““ On 01.01.2011, as the Director of Global Retail Solutions, Tudor Andronic took over the overall direction for the divisions of hardware development, software development and product management/customer solution centre.
By replacing the management team in the retail division, Bizerba wants to consistently develop its pioneering role as a provider of open, standardised retail IT solutions. With a view to further process and cost benefits for commercial enterprises.
While Peter Laudien-Weidenfeller ““ his trusted colleague of more than 10 years from IBM times ““ manages the activities of the Bizerba sales region worldwide in a matrix function, Tudor Andronic will assume global responsibility for hardware and software development, as well as product management. At the same time, the newly created position of a Director of Global Retail Solutions also includes the management of the Customer Solution Centre.
Forty seven year old Tudor Andronic is a certified engineer (Dipl. Ing) for applied physics, business engineer, Master of Business Administration. His professional background in retail took him from the retail group Zürich Solutions AG via Migros (where he was responsible for loading systems) to IBM in 1995, where he significantly furthered the development of software concepts for retail as EMEA Software Manager from 1995 to 2003. Before he moved to Bizerba in 2007 to become Business Development Manager Retail, he was also Retail Software Leader and Head of Customer Solutions for five years at Mettler Toledo.
In addition, Tudor Andronic has also played an active role in the ARTS (Association for Retail Technology and Standards) for 10 years, presently as co-chair of the Fresh Item Management and in the Advisory Council of the Retail IBM User Group.
Tudor Andronic is just as familiar with the retail branch from a purely technical perspective as he is from a sales perspective. For him, customer focus is the top priority. "Looking at the business from our customers' perspective means making them trust us. Customers do not need a product but a solution for one of his/her problems and if we understand that, then we are already on the right track to providing the ideal solution. We need to do this by combining quality and technology with sector know-how, advisory skills and services which will make his life easier." Bizerba notably sees growth potential in the area of openness and fresh competence. "Here we are going to emerge as the No. 1 solutions provider along the entire value-added chain."

(Submit Articles) Nuremberg, Germany (November 10, 2010) ““ Nash Technologies, a key European R&D service provider, announced availability of adding Texas Instruments’ Incorporated (TI) TMS320C66x digital signal processors (DSPs) core based silicon to its portfolio of supporting leading edge technologies. Given the tremendous compute performance and power efficiency of this device, Nash Technologies envisions a fit for TI’s C66x devices in a growing number of markets and applications in addition to the telecommunications segment.

In addition to W-CDMA and LTE physical layer infrastructure on TI’s TCI6616 System-on-Chip (SoC) base station, Nash Technologies will support TI’s customers by providing software development and system test and integration services, based on their wide experience gained by using TI’s C64x DSPs in various software projects and test-system products. This includes Nash Technologies’ PHY control layer software and generic TMS320C6000TM middleware software, which allows seamless testing of TMS320C64xâ„¢ and C66x DSPs software on the target device as well as on Linux-based host-machines.

“The TCI6616 SoC base station and C6670 device from TI combine the new C66x DSP floating point cores with extremely innovative hardware accelerators that support integrating or even interweaving hardware and software functions,“ said Karsten de Freese, program manager, Nash Technologies. “Combining this with new silicon features like the groundbreaking system interconnect and hardware queue management, will significantly benefit multi-waveform, software defined deployments. The enhanced processing power of TI’s C66x based SoCs will help system designers build smaller, more efficient and less power consuming systems.“

“In addition to telecom, TI’s C66x multicore DSPs provide outstanding performance for applications such as defense and public safety, medical and high end imaging, test and automation and other applications requiring high performance“, said Jochen Schyma, business development manager, TI. “Nash Technologies software and test and validation services further enable customers to accelerate their time to market with compelling solutions.“

(Submit Articles) Andreas Kraut has been the new chairman of the board of directors at Bizerba subsidiary PESA Waagen AG since 1st July 2010

Balingen 20th october 2010 - As a result, the 36-year-old graduate businessman is now in charge of the fortunes of the 100% subsidiary PESA with its logistics products and solutions, alongside the Bizerba "Industry Solutions" product organisation. All industry-relevant product families are therefore brought together under the responsibility of one managing director. Andreas Kraut is the great-grandson of the founder of the company and the son of the late head of Bizerba, Günther Kraut. His mother, Frigga Kraut, is the majority shareholder of Bizerba.

PESA Waagen AG became famous due to patenting the vibrating string weighing technique. The scales determine weight solely by using the frequency of a vibrating string and are therefore particularly precise and quick. In the logistics sector in particular, weighing processes no longer represent a bottleneck in material flow and goods processes. In fact, with periphery units, the scales can also became a complex data acquisition system.

An example: When combined with hardware and software components from Bizerba, the results are systems solutions which are particularly innovative for the logistics sector. This system can continuously size up, weigh and scan products automatically and supplies the data it collects to a host system. The Bizerba Parcel-Shipping-System software can then automatically determine the correct transport carrier. Companies can optimise their delivery management with this intelligent system solution and achieve considerable savings.

Individual hardware and software modules can be integrated flexibly into existing units. A consulting team from the Bizerba company accompanies the customer during installation and advises the customer in terms of how service contracts and financing options can be adjusted to their requirements.

About Bizerba

Bizerba is a leading, worldwide-operating Solutions-provider offering professional system solutions in scale, label, information and food service technologies, in the retail, food industry, producing and logistic segments. Sector-specific hardware and software, high-performance network-compatible management systems as well as a wide selection of labels, consumables and business services ensure transparent control of integrated business processes and high-level availability of Bizerba-specific performance features.

(Submit Articles) Bizerba cutting machine A510 cuts at a fixed weight, therefore reducing the give away and accelerates the work process

Balingen/Eurasburg, 8th October 2010 ““ New business Bioland Packlhof farm is equipped with the cutting machine A510 from Bizerba. It reduces the “give away“ thanks to the integrated scale and ensures flawless work processes in handicraft businesses.

The co-operation with Bizerba started around ten years ago, when the technology manufacturer kitted the Bioland business out with labelling devices and scales and tills. The cutting machine A 500 was also put into operation here. “The Bizerba cutting machines impressed us even then and we were very satisfied with the service“, reports Josef Urban, owner and manager of Packlhof. Based on this good experience Josef Urban equipped his newly opened business in Eurasburg with Bizerba retail scales and the cutting machine A510.

“Our main business is to supply organic supermarkets such as Alnatura. As a purely handicraft business we have to manage a large range of products every day, which have to be cut, weighed, packed and delivered precisely to the gram“, explains Urban. “Therefore the integrated weighing function of the cutting machine is particularly helpful.“ Andreas Gmelin, Director of Food Processing at Bizerba, explains how they work: “First of all the target weight, slice thickness and storage method of the item to be cut using the menu. During the cutting process the product is being permanently weighed and the cut portion is compared with the target weight. The cutting machine regulates the slice thickness as needed using the software.“ The exact gram definition is very important to reduce the give away. “For uncalibrated products we calculate on average a 10% waste which is additionally packaged free of charge“, says Gmelin. The integrated weighing function therefore not only ensures a precise result to the gram, but also actively increases the company profit.

With the combination of cutting machines and scales you not only save on the give away, but also valuable work time and therefore personnel costs: “with normal cutting machines meat and sausage is first cut and then weighed. The A510 takes over the weighing from our butcher and therefore accelerates the processes“, comments Urban.

A further important criterion for buying the cutting machine for Josef Urban was the size: “Before making our decision we tried out cutting machines from other manufacturers, but these were purely industrial machines. The A510 best fulfils the needs of our operation“. Furthermore it is easy to clean and maintain. “Our employees are happy that you can sharpen the blade directly on the machine without disassembling it. Finally it can be cleaned quickly and easily ““ with our frequent product changes this is urgently necessary“, continues Urban.

Josef Urban was also sure about the choice of his scales for the new Bioland market: “In our first shop we had retail scales and tills both from Bizerba and from another manufacturer. But only the Bizerba devices definitively impressed us, so we equipped our new business with scales from Balingen“, reports Urban.

The Packlhof in Oberherrnhausen has been owned by the Urban family for 150 years. 20 years ago they founded their own butcher’s shop, in which exclusively products made according to the Bioland processing guidelines are offered. No flavourings or other chemical additives are used here. By refraining from using nitrite curing salt their products are not harmful to your health. House recommendation: the home made smoked turkey breast, meat loaf and the white sausage.

(Submit Articles) Balingen/Nürnberg, 26. September 22th. 2010 - Although the original concept was to give consumers information on contents, country of origin, price and correct usage, today labels serve a much greater purpose; they contain radio frequency identification RFID and optimise the entire logistics process, they increase protection against theft and plagiarism and play an important role in consumer safety as regards temperature-controlled foods. Bizerba presents new multifunctional labels from September 28th to 30th 2010 at the Fachpack (Hall 9, booth 140).

RFID labels: Transparency throughout the entire transport chain and protection against plagiarism

The growing interconnectedness between suppliers, distribution partners and customers is leading to an increasingly complex transport chain. From the production process right through to the end-consumer there are vast amounts of individual product information. In order to ensure a transparent communication process between all parties, as well as rapid identification of products, all data must be firmly attached to the product. In this respect, RFID is set to gain significance in the coming years as a key technology.

On the underside of the labels, so-called transponders are attached. The Electronic Product Code (EPC) is saved on these. This stores general product information and combines it with individual product information, for example, the serial number, the production date and country of origin. It is possible to write on the transponders simultaneously and print data on the label using very little space. Without any visual or physical contact, a scanner can be used to read the data on the radio waves and then save it in a database. Furthermore, each station on the supply chain can independently leave a trace of information on the transponders. In this way, the country of origin can be more effectively tracked, protection against plagiarism increases and illegal re-labelling is made visible.

Labels with seal function enhance protection against theft

Labels with seal function enhance protection against theft. After opening, the label is broken in such a way that it is almost impossible to illegally repack the goods at any stage of the supply chain. Particularly exclusive food products from Argentinean steak to high quality sweets are protected in this way.

Food producers also benefit from this seal function in their fight against inventory differences. The so-called Temper-Evident labels prevent employees from buying something in a shop and on their way back through, reopening their shopping bags and filling them with additional items. The company must therefore simply ensure that no employee leaves the shop with a broken seal.

The world's first universal label for hundreds of products

Using the VPI label (Variable Product Information) it is possible to use the same label for a whole range of products. The basic layout is pre-printed within company specific parameters, for example, with the logo, slogan and general corporate design.

The fields for variable data such as product name, date, weight and price can be printed by the customer themselves. It omits set-up times for the exchange of labels when changing products and even labelling errors are a thing of the past. Furthermore, the customer can make large-scale orders, therefore saving money.

Multi-talented retail label - informs, seals and protects

Traditionally, packaging includes different labels for price, information and design. An alternative method, the so-called C-Wrap labelling, allows all contents to be displayed on just one label which wraps around the product on all three sides, therefore forming a 'C'.

This method offers a number of advantages to the user, for example, the labelling process using several labels requires more frequent roll changes. Furthermore, errors can occur when the label rolls are not changed in unison with the different products. This can result in, for example, salami being falsely labelled with the underside label of ham. By displaying all product information on just one label, labelling errors can be avoided and the number of roll changes as well as storage costs can be reduced.

TTI system label safeguards the cooling chain

Temperature controlled food products are highly sensitive goods, whereby even small deviations in their nominal temperature can lead to considerable damage. The quality of products can only be guaranteed if temperature fluctuations across the entire transport chain are avoided. The TTI system label is a detector for incorrect storage and transport temperatures (Time Temperature Indicator).

It uses ink that has been loaded using UV light as a basis. The more light that is used, the longer the delivery. The speed of the transition of the colour from a deep blue to colourlessness depends on the ambient air temperature. Using the level of colour saturation, suppliers and traders can identify the storage and transport temperatures of the products and they then have the option to directly reject them. Furthermore, a UV-filter ensures that labels can not be reloaded. At the same time, a 2D-code which saves all tracing data, can be imprinted.

(Submit Articles) Bizerba presents _connect.BRAIN software interface at Fachpack 2010

Balingen, 30th August 2010 - At Fachpack 2010, the international specialist trade fair for packaging and labelling technology in Nuremberg, the system provider Bizerba will present the new _connect.BRAIN software interface from 28th - 30th September. It enables companies to integrate Bizerba peripheral devices uniformly into existing software and processes using just one software (Hall 9, stand 140).

In the industry, production and packaging systems stopped being static systems a while ago. In fact, they are often extended at regular intervals using new soft and hardware components, according to technological progress. In order for the system solutions to work, the elements must be able to grow flexibly with each other.

The _connect.BRAIN software interface enables the host system of a company to communicate with labelling systems and printers in the uniform BX-Net language of Bizerba. "The basic module of the interface can be individually programmed, according to the relevant requirements, and therefore flexibly integrated into the superior IT. Flexibility is an important criterion for many companies“, explains Dieter Conzelmann, Director of Industry Solutions Market at Bizerba.

The software has three significant functions: With the help of the _connect2File data interface, the user can send data and control commands to the devices in the form of ASCII files. Using folder sharing, the whole network can access this data.
The _connect2DB database interface on the other hand enables weight information and other data to be saved on an SQL server or in an Access file. Using an assistant, this data can also be exported in CSV, XLS and MDB formats and further processed at other positions in the system.

With the help of the _connect2SAP interface, the defined data can be transferred to an SAP system and saved there. "The software interface,“ continues Conzelmann, "also creates cross platform connections, so that the users can also communicate with the devices via Windows applications, such as MS Excel or MS Word.“

In programme environments of Windows operating systems it is also possible to transfer data and control commands via a DCOM server. The quick and stable server enables a direct reaction to occurrences in the application programme and the realisation of event controlled processes. Cyclic data retrieval can therefore be omitted.

(Submit Articles) Bizerba presents a software supported commissioning
and shipping station at Fachpack 2010

Balingen/Nuremberg, 28th September 2010 - When the time for order processing is getting persistently tighter, warehousing and shipping logistics are subject to permanent optimisation pressure, new answers are expected from logistics manufacturer and service providers. At this year's Fachpack, the international specialist exhibition for packaging technology from 28th - 30th September in Nuremberg, the Balingen solutions provider Bizerba (hall 9, stand 140) will present a contemporary combination of their counting software WinCIS Counting and the shipping system PSS (Parcel-Shipping-System) for a manual dispatch workplace.

The software supported commissioning and shipping station

Bizerba has set up a flexible commissioning, packing and shipping station consisting of the operating terminal ST, the load receiver LA 150 and corresponding printer and weigher models, a scanner and a PC with flat touch screen with Windows interface and intuitive user management as well as the software systems WinCIS Counting and PSS-manual. "The operating terminal with touch screen interface is self explanatory, can be understood without a handbook and leads the worker through the individual process steps securely. Large buttons guarantee a high level of accuracy, even with gloves on", explains Dieter Conzelmann, Director of Industry Solutions Market at Bizerba.

The use of WinCIS Counting allows the most precise counting results and a consistently up to date overview of the stock of materials. After all, especially small parts such as screws are tedious to commission by hand. "All data is permanently available" says Conzelmann, "and ensure a high level of transparency.“ Apart from the basic module WinCIS Counting can be extended with numerous modules, according to the customer relevant requirements components for tolerance control, compilation of statistics and determination of reference weight can be added.

Supplemented by multi user and client capable PSS software by Bizerba, which is also available in various expansion stages, the shipping procedure can also be processed at the same work place. The shipments are manually scanned and weighed, the software determines the most cost effective method of shipping and the most suitable method of transport based on the integrated tariffs, transfers the data to a superior host system and compiles the necessary shipping documents. Additionally the software allows address management, maintenance of master data or importing the router file for the relevant method of transport according to company information and expansion stage. The calibratable system PSS also fulfils the ISO 9001/2 norms in the shipping area. This includes documentation of all shipping procedures carried out .

Using the GLP label printer included in the system, an RFID label (Radio Frequency Identification) can be made. This means that via radio technology, individual shipments of outgoing goods no longer need to be individually identified using the barcode. " RFID labelling enables time saving registration without visual contact with parallel quantity checking“, says Conzelmann.

(Submit Articles) Edeka Neukauf Culinara Maier and Bizerba report about the results of a joint pilot project

Balingen, 24th August 2010 - Advertising using consumer screens can lead to a doubling of turnover. This result was reached by a field study, which Edeka Neukauf Culinara-Maier and food specialist Bizerba carried out together.

A range of 66 herbs and spices from a renowned supplier formed the starting basis. The objective of the field study was to discover what influence monthly-rotating price campaigns, advising on the consumer screen of touch-screen scales and first customer address using recipe suggestions have on sales figures. In the first week of the pilot project, Culinara Maier sold a total of 204 packages, the first price campaign increased sales to 543 units, the second and third to an average of 700.

After the third price campaign, Culinara Maier began to advertise 14 products from the herbs and spices range using the consumer screens on the scales on fresh-produce counters. While the sales staff, for example, weighed the lean pork, the customer-facing display on the scales showed consumers the price and weight as well as the rights herbs and spices. In addition, the personnel also had recipe suggestions which they could suggest to the customer and print out.

Touch-Screens Scales can double turnover

These campaigns increased the sales figures of the 14 advertised products from 264 units in calendar week 24 to 430 units in calendar week 25. In this week, there was an increase of 676 to 1,082 units sold for the entire range ““ and this occurred even though the products were already being sold at the normal price again.

The pilot project produced the following result over the entire 21-week observation period: from a range of 66 products, 12 products were advertised using the scales screens in the meat department and two products were advertised on the fish department scales. In the 21 weeks, Culinara-Maier sold 2,775 units of these 14 actively-advertised products. For the control group of 52 non-actively advertised products, which was almost four times the size, there were only sales of 4,084 units. “This relation shows us the clear success of the pilot project. By advertising on the screens in combination with the recipe print-outs, the so-called “bandwagon effect“ also increased,“ explains Culinara-Maier proprietor Detlev Maier.

Claudia Gross, Director Global Marketing & Communication at Bizerba, is also happy about this success and adds, “The advertisement through customer screens and the suggestion of recipes are active means of communication. It shows that it can lead to turnover increases with a more personal customer address at the same time.“ She believes that such a wide product range can only be efficiently marketed in this way. This in turn leads to a higher level of customer satisfaction and conveys the unique image of the producer, whose competence is consequently recognised consistently and stably by the clientele. Culinara-Maier in Rottweil employs 50 staff. A total of 11 Bizerba Type CE II 800 2S touch-screen scales are used in the fresh-produce sector.

Now they can be integrated into a double-tracked packaging line as a dual track version and weigh and classify up to 800 packages per minute. Also the performance of the optional metal detectors could be increased by 10 per cent; so even the smallest metal particles can be reliably detected in the future. For use in dusty and humid environments, the check weighers are from now on offered with hardened rollers. As these are not subject to abrasion, the belts remain white and have to be changed less frequently.

The new dual track solution

In double-tracked packaging lines with a high production throughput, the CWE 1500 will be integrated as a dual track version in the future. â€Å“The clients can decide themselves how they use the potential additional performance: they can either halve the transport speed of both belts and thereby significantly stabilise the production flow, making it more fail-safe or they can reach a new throughput record of up to 800 packages per minute by working both tracks at maximum speedâ€Â says Dieter Conzelmann, Director Industry Solutions at Bizerba. The Bizerba applications team provides customer-specific consultation for questions regarding system integration.

The CWE dual track is equipped with a 12.1â€â„¢Ãƒ¢â‚¬Ã¢â€ž¢ colour touch display on which the operator can view all relevant information regarding the production process. The display varies from a digital speed indicator, to a bar chart of the last n packages and to a Gaussian distribution which enables well established control of the give-away.

Optimised metal detection

Bizerba has completely reengineered the MD series of metal detectors. The detection precision was thereby increased by 10 per cent. In the future, even the smallest metal particles can be detected in foods. â€Å“Even the smallest scandals and complaints with regard to the quality of food can have serious consequences for a business and often seriously affect sales and market share for years. With the new metal detectors, this corporate risk is reduced to a minimumâ€Â says Conzelmann. Any contaminated packages are separated from the production by means of a separation system with pushers.

If the optional colour touch display is used, the metal detector automatically informs the operator at regular intervals that the metal detector has to be checked with regard to functionality and precision. All checks are documented and provide maximum transparency regarding production safety.

Hardened transport rollers

Bizerba now provides especially hardened transport rollers for all CWE types in order to counteract the following phenomenon: especially in the dusty and humid environments found in bakeries and butcherâ€â„¢s shops, the normal abrasion of the light deflection and transport rollers can abrade aluminium dust which deposits on the transport belts and blackens them. In order to avoid the formation of dirt, the new rollers are finished with an eloxal layer. It is harder than stainless steel and can therefore theoretically have an unlimited service life.

Bizerba and the Sigmarinen School of Fashion are presenting a very distinctive fashion show - with state-of-the-art labels in the foreground

Balingen, July 16th - Bizerba and the Sigmarinen School of Fashion are presenting something very unique: a fashion show as never experienced before anywhere. A show that clearly expresses just how multi-functional and attractive labels can be.

In 1858, Charles Worth held the very first fashion show in Paris and ultimately transformed the shows into coveted social events. He was also the first fashion designer who was considered more of an artist than craftsman, and who revolutionised the complete fashion industry with his approach to clothing production. Today, 150 years later, world markets are saturated and designers are constantly looking for new inspiration in terms of design and presentation, to call attention to themselves and their creations.

The Sigmarinen School of Fashion and Bizerba, the technology manufacturer from Balingen, Germany, came up with an idea that is unique worldwide: students would be given an opportunity to create contemporary summer fashions, incorporating the wide diversity and appeal of Bizerba labels into their designs.

Claudia Gross, Director Global Marketing and Communication at Bizerba, talks about projectâ€â„¢s background: â€Å“Bizerba was founded in 1866 and since then it has been known for producing high-quality scales for industry and retail. Of course, our corporate image and our portfolio have since then adapted to new, global economic markets. We now produce much more than just scales. We develop many different types of high-quality labels, as well as state-of-the-art system solutions based on intelligent interaction of hardware and software.â€Â In order to visually communicate this modern image and the amazing diversity of Bizerba labels, Bizerba asked the Sigmaringen School of Fashion if they would design label fashions.

â€Å“The â€Å“Wrap me upâ€Â model from Bodil Neitzelâ€Â, continues Gross, â€Å“showcases our C-Wrap label. All required content can be depicted on a single label that wraps itself around the product on up to four sides if need be. The product packaging is therefore stronger, and product content is well protected. Labelling errors are avoided, and the number of roll changes is reduced as well. With the right software, users can determine themselves where content should be positioned. And end-buyers can see key information quickly, without even having to take the package out of the shelf.

Bettina Wirschun from the Sigmarinen School of Fashion, project manager and honorary lecturer for model and collection design, highlights: â€Å“Bizerba asked us if we would design outfits and create models for a fashion show with Bizerba labels as part of the designs. The second year students and I really liked the idea, as unusual as it was. And as a first step, we had to find the right match between the complexity of the challenge and the studentsâ€â„¢ level of knowledge and experience.â€Â

The team decided on sheath dresses, which work well in business environments: slim, sleeveless, knee-length, figure-fitting dresses. â€Å“A brainstorming session with the class participants was followed by many sketches. And then much later, three representatives from Bizerba attended the studentsâ€â„¢ PowerPoint presentationsâ€Â, continued Wirschun.

Maren Frost, one of the students, incorporated a labelling world premiere into her â€Å“One for allâ€Â dress: the VIP label. VIP in this case stands for Variable Product Information. The benefits of this label for the retail grocery trade are obvious: a single label can be used for variable data on hundreds of products. The basic layout is preprinted with company-specific parameters – logo, slogan and design. The spaces for variable data such as product name, date, price and barcode, enable these to be printed by the retailers themselves.

â€Å“For us it was very important to make it clear to the public, how important a role labels play in todayâ€â„¢s economy. The do much more than simply decorate, they take on other important functions as well. A key term in todayâ€â„¢s markets is RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). An RFID label features an integrated transponder, on which data on the product and supply can be stored. Leonie Helena Ross, with her â€Å“Complete controlâ€Â model, successfully brought to life just how attractive functionality can beâ€Â, highlights Gross.

The Sigmarinen School of Fashion opened in 1974 in Sigmaringen and became a non-profit organisation in 2009, specialised in training certified fashion designers.

About Bizerba L&C:

The Bochum-based Bizerba plant for Labels and Consumables has more than 25 years of experience in the manufacturing of labels, adhesives and in particular of laminates. In its plant, with an area of 7,000 square metres, Bizerba L&C provides laminate manufacturing, reprography (layout design and redesign), manufacturing of printing films and plates, storage right up to the actual printing services. 85 employees working in a three shift cycle are responsible for the smooth processing of orders. Meanwhile sell roughly one third of our labels to companies in more than 50 countries.

24-hour service agreement ensures the maximum productivity of your systems

Balingen, July 14th - In these uncertain times, many firms have problems in setting themselves apart from the competition through their core products. Hence, customer-oriented services take on an evermore decisive meaning in gaining the competitive edge. With its 1,000 service technicians throughout the world and in the region of 20,000 permanently available replacement parts, Bizerba, the technology manufacturer from Balingen, ensures that all scales, machines and systems work reliably.

â€Å“We place great importance on providing competent consultation and active customer-orientated service regarding issues of use, operation and data security. With our six regional sales and service centres, 34 branches and 250 service locations, we have one of the most dense consultation and service networks in Germany,â€Â says Robert Keller, Director of Business Services at Bizerba. The main requirements made of the service organisation are high quality and short reaction times at reduced costs.

The 24-hour service agreement guarantees around the clock care of the systems. In the event of a faults in the system , the customer can dial a central service numberÃ,¬ - also at night - and will be connected automatically to the responsible service employee. The attending technician contacts the customer within one hour and starts to analyse the problem. He can make use of all customer-specific documents and replacement parts and eliminate a fault in just a few hours in most cases,â€Â explains Keller. This helps to minimise expensive down times and to ensure maximum productivity of the products.

Balingen, 09th July 2010 - Bizerba is one of the international leading solution partners in the global growth markets of weighing and information technology as well as in terms of food service systems. Nevertheless, in order to ensure a high level of reliability with all the components installed, one thing is necessary: A well organised service which reacts quickly.

Over 1000 service technicians all over the world make sure that all of the functions of the installed scales, machines and systems are reliable and secure. The headquarters in Balingen organises the area-wide service network for customers from the six product areas of retail systems, food processing, industry solutions, labels and consumables, logistic systems and automotive.

â€Å“Our service is constructed according to service level agreements. The service hotline is a free basic service which is available during weekends and public holidays at all times of the day. Other modules consist for example of a 24-hour repair service, fault repairs at all times of the day, preventative maintenance checks on site and test protocols in accordance with ISO standards,â€Â says Robert Keller, the director of business services at Bizerba. Moreover, Bizerba also offers remote monitoring of hard and software solutions within the scope of so-called e-service contracts. Downtime periods are therefore able to be reduced in a reliable and cost-efficient way.

Original Bizerba replacement parts are also controlled and stored centrally. The central storage facility in Balingen regularly contains more than 20,000 replacement parts and has optimised logistics with regards to efficiency and speed. Internationally active couriers bring the components to the recipients as quickly as possible. â€Å“Experienced specialists in our service-repair department exclusively deal with repairing Bizerba components,â€Â continues Keller. â€Å“Cost-optimised exchange parts enable economical solutions with a complete price transparency.â€Â

Regular training sessions which the technicians and product consultants complete in the central training centre in Balingen guarantee the high quality of the Bizerba service. â€Å“In order to guarantee optimal product functionality we offer targeted system accompaniment and start up consultations. Additionally, customers can also participate in training sessions in the training centre,â€Â says Keller. All of these services form the basis for long-term, sold customer relationships.

A quality management system is also indispensable with all technically demanding products. If for example, scales are used as test instruments, the demands must be defined to the process exactly and the appliances used must show the highest level of accuracy at the same time. Evidence of this is shown through the calibration certificate produced by Bizerba.

About Bizerba:

Bizerba is a leading, worldwide-operating technology company offering professional system solutions in scale, label, information and food service technologies, in the retail, food industry, producing and logistic segments.

An all-new buying experience at the service counter

Balingen, 5th July 2010 - A daring and very promising strategy for the future – this is the approach the north-west German Bünting Group has committed to. As a reflection of this, the mega-retailer has opted for state-of-the-art Bizerba retail solutions at its consumer outlets. No less than 26,000 general article data items and advertising content are ready and available for use at the service counter scales. The system not only offers extensive product information for service personnel, it also allows the company to capitalise on new and considerable advertising potential on the customer side.

Retail and the fine line between margins and customer loyalty

The retail environment is currently facing huge challenges. The selection is broader than ever and end-buyers are not only more discerning, they also insist on extensive information and knowledge. Especially at fresh food counters, service personnel are confronted with more and more consumer questions. With its new scale system, Bizerba has a solution to address these trends, whereby sales staff can provide consumers with tailor-made answers and advice. At the press of a button, you can source information on ingredients, nutritional values and allergens – always up to date and available for 87 branded articles. Current offers or specials can be presented with attractive images and ad copy, recipes can be printed just as easily as a price-off coupon in the case of a special promotion. The .RetailImpact software from Bizerba, with its well considered concept, is absolutely persuasive and always comes out the clear winner in extensive testing. The experience acquired during these tests, as well as from various pilot tests, flowed directly into the development and planning phases. The specialists at Bizerba held many discussions with decision-makers and on-site staff. Only then did the Bünting Group make its far-reaching, strategic decision for the future. The system was introduced step by step in all new Combi markets in Northern Germany.

With the system, completely new customer purchase behaviour can be initiated. Content is controlled centrally and administered by sales. Targeted to specific retail outlets, it can be synchronised with classical media and current advertising campaigns – so that â€Å“Think global – act localâ€Â takes on an all-new meaning. â€Å“When the sales person behind the counter weighs the beef filet, the customer takes a look at the scale display screen and, along with weight and price, sees a reference to a suitable wine or side dish – we call it contemporary cross-sellingâ€Â, explains Maike Kromminga, press speaker for the Bunting Group. Ultimately, cross-selling only works when the whole process is taken into consideration. When the wine highlighted on the display is available. When the service personnel explains to the customer, that the ham was air-dried under very special circumstances. And, when the ad copy in the weekly flyer concurs – then it all comes together.

You can never know too much

One of the first places where the system can be experienced in action is the new Combi store in Bunde. But what you cannot see is the comprehensive, new service and intelligent system networking in the background. The service personnel is especially enthusiastic about the new system, since they now have opportunities to find out so much more about the products they have been recommending and selling to their customers for years.

All information, images and campaigns are controlled centrally at the Bünting Group. These, as well as new listings and manufacturer changes are seen by buyers in real time at one of the many outlets Point of Information. At the same time, at the central office, you can quickly see which campaigns are successful in which markets. In other words, a real-time dialogue takes place, rather than simply one-way communication.

At the Bünting Group, the project was initiated with Combi. The famila and Markant stores will also be given the opportunity to benefit from the new system solution. Couponing, cross-selling, individualised training for part-time staff – step by step, the whole program will be introduced for use at every retail store.

Open to innovation

â€Å“The decision-making process for our solution at Bünting led to a very special point: we clearly separated hardware from softwareâ€Â, explains Mr Maase, customer service representative and key account manager at Bizerba. â€Å“This is a fundamental aspect here.â€Â The openness of the system is a powerful argument in favour of the solution. At any point in time, the current solution can be expanded through third-party offerings. Further processes can be optimised thanks to the new platform. These are all very obvious benefits that make it very clear why Bizerba achieves a considerable part of its turnover with software. The revolutionary decision in favour of open systems, as well as a continuous orientation to service and to real customer needs, offer Bizerba a solid platform for growth over years to come.

Ceraclean surfaces make Bizerba cutting machines even more efficient

Balingen, 5th july 2010, the Balingen-based technology manufacturer Bizerba introduced a new surface finish for cutting machines. A special ceramic surface, originally developed for use in aeronautical engineering and the computer industry, makes cutting machines more robust, efficient and corrosion-resistant.

Ceraclean is made of artificial resin combined with ceramic components and polytetrafluorthylene and uses the water- and dirt-repellent lotus effect. The good non-stick and gliding properties speak in favour of use in the food service. Ceraclean is 30 times harder than the usually used aluminium anodiser, has up to 20% higher gliding properties than normal anodised aluminium, is dishwasher-safe and very durable with detergents of all kinds.

“The material generates a strong customer advantage in food processing. Deposit build-up is very low and therefore cleaning is easy and doesn’trequire a great deal of effort. The cutting blades do not get very dirty, the goods to be cut do not stick on and the high level of abrasion resistance increases the life span“, says Andreas Gmelin, director of food processing at Bizerba.“Technical tests“, continues Gmelin, “convinced us of the characteristics of the new material. Normal anodisers in detergents showed a significant surface change after five days. With the new technology there were no signs of abrasion even after several weeks." Parts of the cutting machine can be cleaned in the dishwasher without hesitation. Extensive tests, which are also used in the automotive industry, proved the significant superiority of the new surface technology compared to today’s current anodised aluminium.

In the sandpaper test the material underneath the anodiser was exposed after 1,3000 strokes with sandpaper with grain size 240, with a load of two kilograms. The new surface withstood 45,000 strokes in this test. Apart from the high level of abrasion resistance the material has a high resistance to chemicals. The layer thickness is approx. 25 micrometres.

There are no concerns in contact with food: “The American Organisation Food and Drug Administration (FDA) checks items for their suitability for use with food. All of the raw materials used in the new technology conform to FDA standards“, explains Gmelin. Furthermore, the technology has the LGA certificate. This is proof of a defined, superior and consistent quality. Due to the annual monitoring of production, a consistent level of quality is ensured.

Bizerba's K-class series is now complete ““ modern generation of scales with open standards

Balingen, 29th June 2010 - Innovative scales concepts with sales assisting functions, visual merchandising and further multimedia applications directly at the point of sale (POS) are more popular than ever. Bizerba has answered the strong demand of the market with the now complete multimedia PC scales series K- class. All models are conceived according to open standards. They function optimally with the Bizerba Software family RetailFramework, but can also be operated with software from other manufacturers.

“The PC scales from our K-class series support all modern retail tasks: from weighing and using the till, to advertising and printing right up to consulting. Fitted with touch screen and customer-side display, the PC scales are the ideal multimedia platform for extensive article information, which we at Bizerba describe as values for sales assistant training, advertising and sales planning“, says Matthias Harsch, spokesman for the management at Bizerba.
“The touch technology allows a flexible design of the operating interfaces and the sales sequences in any situation“, Harsch continues. The scales were conceived according to open standards and therefore can be seamlessly integrated into the existing IT infrastructure; external applications can be integrated or supplemented.

Passive cooling and reduced energy use support environmental protection

The K-class PC scales are now fitted with a state-of-the-art, high-performance processor. It supports multimedia applications even better. “We have reduced the power consumption of the scales in continuous operation by ten watts. The use of a new X86 platform lowers the energy use by a third. Therefore we not only reduce the operating costs of the user, we also fulfil the criteria of Green IT ““ in spite of the higher processor capability“, says Harsch. Peripheral devices such as displays are be turned off during pauses in operation, unless they are used for in-store advertising.

The K-class also has passive cooling, which makes an inbuilt fan superfluous. With this concept the heat is emitted into the ambient air via cooling ribs. The advantages are obvious: “As there is no air circulation, the scales on the counter work with an extremely low level of noise and emit less heat in to the environment. This is a particular advantage in cooling areas. Additionally, less foreign bodies accumulate in the device itself. Thus passive cooling also guarantees a higher level of system reliability“, Harsch continues.

Supporting well-established remote service tools

Remote access to the scales is also possible by remote service. If difficulties occur, the Bizerba e-service can eliminate them remotely and promptly in many cases. After being assigned by the customer Bizerba product specialists will access the devices and in this way can analyse and eliminate defects. Thus, the e-service reduces service operations on site and allows for shorter shut-down times due to prompt diagnosis. This not only saves the customer hard cash, but also time. Additionally, it is possible to quickly carry out area-wide software updates e.g. in all branches. This way all branches will work with uniform programme versions without service operations on site. Apart from software updates this technology also allows functional changes within the existing software, saving of device configuration files and remote operation.

The K-class model fits every area of use

Due to its modular design there is a K-class model for every area of use. The PC scales are used as desk, hanging or stand scales by sales personnel, at self service counters and during price labelling.
All scales have a 12 inch sales assistant display and a 7 or 12 inch customer display. The customer-side display turns the scales into a modern advertising tool.

The stand scale can also be fitted with a camera for optical article recognition, an optimum addition for innovative and future-oriented markets. The scales recognise the product to be weighed with unequalled and unique certainty. Thanks to the optical article recognition, operation is more comfortable for the user.
If you combine the scale with a till drawer you can create a flexible till solution.

The PC scales can be fitted with a double printer for printing receipts and labels if required. In this way it is possible to print receipts, recommendations and user information separately. Optionally a printer for linerless, self-adhesive labels can be used. This alternative to the classic clamping pliers closes the bags hygienically. Receipts and labels can be printed individually; a roll diameter of up to 120mm reduces the number of roll changes.

Accessories

You can buy optimally adapted receipt and linerless paper for all scales from the modular K-class series via Bizerba. The use of in-house consumables increases the reliability enormously and therefore the life span of the devices.

Bizerba delivers intelligent cutting machine A510 to Pierrat. The French butcher’s can cut larger quantities quicker, reduce the percentage of give aways thanks to the unique weighing function and can open up new markets.

Balingen, 28th June 2010 ““ The Pierrat butcher’s shop was founded in the Vosges Mountains in the North East of France in 1892. The company has been consistently expanding since then and produces a large range of products, which are made from 80% pork. Various regional tree variation mixtures are used for smoking. “We have a small handicraft structure and have to work with 20 different products all day long. Therefore the investment in the Slicer A510 by Bizerba gives us many practical advantages: Now we can cut much larger quantities than before all day long without difficulties“, explains Gerrart Pierrat, President Director General at Pierrat. The machine varies the cutting thickness during the process so that the specified weight is always achieved.

The slicer flexibly adjusts to the environmental conditions of the company, says Andreas Gmelin, Director of Food Processing at Bizerba. “Its integrated weighing function is unique worldwide. Even naturally grown meat products such as ham are weighed and cut precisely into portions according to the target weight. The Bizerba software continually compares the cut weight with the target weight and regulates the slice thickness during the cutting process, so that the specified weight is precisely achieved“. Gmelin clarifies the fact that this function quickly pays for itself particularly for large operations in the meat trade, with an example: “with uncalibrated products you can reckon with an average waste of 10%, which is additionally packed up free of charge. By using the weighing function this give away percentage is avoided. For products with a kilo price of €11 and a turnover of 10 tonnes per month, the manufacturer saves up to €11,000. Calculated over the year, this is a saving of around €130,000 which has a direct effect on the profit“.

The integration of weighing in the cutting and production process significantly accelerates the work process. Depending on the type of item to be cut, the number of slices, number of portions and slice thickness and storage method can be variably defined and saved in the machine. “In this way we can present our traditional meat goods to the customer in the nicest possible way. Thanks to this progressive technology, we not only save time and money, but are also able to open up new markets,“ continues Pierrat. The A510 is also easy to clean and maintain. The blade can be sharpened directly on the machine without dismantling, and the whole machine can be cleaned with just a few hand movements without a great deal of effort. This not only makes the process significantly easier, but also much safer.
The specialities of the Pierrat house include Fuseau lorrain, a Lorraine sausage, Sagarre terrine and especially blood sausage, which is specially made according to a family recipe.

About Bizerba:

Bizerba is a worldwide operating technology company offering professional system solutions for weighing, labelling, information and food field engineering in the sectors of retail, the food and manufacturing industries and logistics. Sector-specific hard and software, high-performing network compatible management systems as well as a wide range of labels and consumables as well as business services ensure the transparent control of integrated business processes and a high level of availability of Bizerba-specific service features.

Bath / Nuremberg 23 June 2010. picoChip, the leading supplier of semiconductors and software for femtocells, and Nash Technologies, a key European R&D service provider, announced a partnership today for testing picoXcell femtocell SoCs with Nash Technologies’ revolutionary NPT and DAIM toolsets.

Femtocell products are becoming increasingly sophisticated, leading to a dramatic rise in test complexity. This collaboration allows Nash Technologies and picoChip to optimize the test coverage of new products and releases, to maintain metrics of the highest quality while reducing time-to-market.

“picoChip is investing heavily to meet the fast-moving needs of the femtocell market,“ said Nigel Toon, CEO of picoChip. “Customers are demanding more features, reliably delivered at aggressive cost points. Working with Nash Technologies helps us to meet these challenges head-on.“

“We are very proud to establish a partnership with such prominent player in the femtocell arena and we look forward to supporting picoChip with our more than 7 years experience in femtocell development and testing,“ said Udo Nadolski, Managing Director of Nash Technologies.

picoChip’s use of the NPT and DAIM toolsets delivers tangible benefits to both equipment manufacturers and network operators. The ability to test femtocell products with real handsets significantly reduces risk and cuts project timescales for customers integrating picoChip’s physical layer solution into end products. The testing strategy also facilitates the derivation of key performance indicators (KPIs) that are meaningful to network operators ““ for example call completion rate.

The Nash Protocol Tester, NPT, is a universal test tool for functional testing on multiple test stages, from host test to target test. The functionality ranges far beyond traditional protocol and stack testing. Test scenarios can be defined by using Perl scripts and executed either interactively or in a fully automated manner. Test scripts can be written so that not only traditional sunny-day/rainy-day scenarios are executed, but also to enable adversarial tests where message sequences or content are deliberately made inconsistent or incorrect. The user may further use NPT to reproduce field scenarios, which is especially helpful in cases where such scenarios occur rarely and/or only under very specific conditions otherwise not reproducible in test labs. The Nash Protocol Tester allows running automated test scenarios with L1 test mobiles, as well as with commercial handsets and data cards, reducing the CAPEX for the test environment. It is also possible to further control test equipment such as signal or fading generators or VSA. Test results and logs can be stored to a test management system for later analysis and automated reporting.

The Debug Air Interface Monitor, DAIM, is a tool that retrieves and visualizes internal measurements of a Femto system to enable troubleshooting low-layer problems during test and operation. The DAIM supports monitoring of live calls and provides a session log. The post-processing mode allows offline analysis of logged sessions. The DAIM features simultaneous monitoring of multiple Femtos, which enables in-depth debugging of handover scenarios.

Bizerba presents the CWP Neptune checkweigher at the IFFA 2010

Balingen, June 22th 2010 – Organic products have become a focus in our society. But doing without preservatives makes products more susceptible to bacterial contamination during the production process. It is therefore now more important than ever to design all machines which come into contact with foodstuffs in such a way that they fulfil the ever-increasing requirements regarding hygiene. With the CWP Neptune, Bizerba has made an important step in the right direction. The checkweigher weighs and sorts unpackaged foodstuffs, is perfectly suited to the requirements for perishable foodstuffs thanks to its hygienic ergonomics, and lowers operation costs to a minimum through the reduction in components and parts subject to wear.

Customersâ€â„¢ diets are becoming increasingly healthier and include more and more organic food, that is an easily-identifiable market trend. According to a representative study by the German Federal Ministry of Food, around 53% of Germans purchase organic products at least occasionally. The term â€Å“organicâ€Â is legally defined by the EU and requires, amongst other things, that the products contain less food additives in direct comparison with conventional foodstuffs.

So when foodstuff producers dispense with preservatives during production, the danger that products become contaminated with bacteria increases. The solution here must lie in designing all machines which come into contact with perishable foodstuffs ergonomically and in such a way that the bacteria are not allowed for and that they are easy to clean.

The Bizerba CWP Neptune checkweigher is designed to weigh and sort unpackaged and perishable foodstuffs, such as minced meat. It has been designed in compliance with the hygienic design criteria of the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) and only requires the use of one single drive belt. â€Å“The belt is the widest part of the system,â€Â explains Dieter Conzelmann, Director of Industry Solutions at Bizerba. â€Å“Should parts of the product fall off the belt, they cannot finish up either in another part of the machinery, or back in the product stream. The weighing cell is also tightly welded.

The system can be cleaned with pressured water and the drive belt can be disassembled quickly and easily. â€Å“In the unpackaged foodstuffs sector,â€Â Conzelmann continues, â€Å“our competitors offer checkweighers with single motorised conveyors, so already at the transitions from feeding belt, weighing belt and discharge belt, there can be hygiene problems. In these areas, parts of the foodstuff fall from the belt drive and collect in hard-to-reach parts of the system. Therefore, with the CWP Neptune, we have deliberately reduced the number of single components.â€Â

If nothing else, this reduction in component parts makes the operation of the system more economical for the user. â€Å“The system only has one single motor and does not have any driving rollers or deflection rollers. Cleaning cycles can therefore be kept short, the operating costs reduced to a minimum thanks to less parts subject to wear and a high level of availability be secured,â€Â says Conzelmann.
