After the success of the 2017 exhibit at the Grand Palais in Paris and at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, 50 artists from OpenArtCode will show their works in the Salone di Donatello, from 19th April to 8th May 2018

The Mediceo Laurenziano Complex, (that unites amongst others, the Basilica of San Lorenzo and the Salone di Donatello, Michelangelo’s Laurentian Library and the Medici Chapels) that is visited by thousands of people each year from all over the world, will host the international artists of the OpenArtCode Group. From 19th April to 8th May 2018 in the Salone di Donatello of the Basilica of San Lorenzo, contemporary art enters the spaces where Brunelleschi, Michelangelo, Donatello, Ammannati and Vasari were working during the Renaissance.
A contemporaneity made up of painting, sculpture, photography, digital art and installations.
An installation by Sandra Muss stands out: seven wooden doors, washed away by history, blown in the wind, with lines of LED light behind logs that have been corroded and whitewashed by saltiness. The passing of time and the mutation of everything are evident in the rusty metal plates and in the objects returned from the sea or found by the artist on her journeys to distant places. Although following another artistic journey and with a different view on society, we also find corroded wood and rusty metals in the works by Stefano Sanna. Here the artist engraves, overlaps, scrapes and stratifies with a process similar to that of nature, which deposits sediments, cancels and recreates. The natural materials used by the interior designer Susanne Sjögren have an entirely different end. Despite the rationality that characterizes the Swedish school in which she trained, her furniture reveals a delicate artistic sensibility in the soft forms of her phytomorphic furniture sculpture. Design, which this time comes from the most advanced engineering experimentation, is the protagonist in the works by David Wiener. Designer for Ferrari amongst others, he devotes much of his art to Formula 1 (it is no coincidence that his collectors include Michael Schumacher, Kimi Räikkönen and Jean Todt) and offers the viewer works on aluminum that seem to have their roots in Op Art for their reiterated and serial construction with an illusionistically kinetic vision that explores the effects of human perception. With great sensitivity, Sumio Inoue expertly works with infinite shades of black and white in his photographic shots that he impresses on thick washi paper (a Japanese rice paper which he makes himself), through a delicate and long process with an end result of ‘low relief’ sculptural photographs. His silent images are impressed with a dense and penetrating black in the paper, which evaporates in indefinite rarefactions on a wrinkled and creased support
In addition to highlighting the rich and diverse variety of styles and techniques typical of the OpenArtCode artists, their works take us to many different places in the world, as in the photos of Etienne Pierart who has documented the war in Syria and Iraq on behalf of the United Nations, but also in his travel photos he reveals the magnificent peace of Antarctica, or the curious faces of distant lands, which he has chosen to exhibit in Florence. In the photographs of Trond Are Berge, the great Norwegian forests that plunge into the blue waters of the fjords alternate with flames that burn on a rock overlooking a sea at sunset, or stones smoothed by the icy north wind are magically suspended in a clear sky. He does not use Photoshop, but cleverly overlays images so that for example, the intense face of a woman is confused into the wood of a tree trunk. The magic of digital manipulation dominates in the assemblages on aluminum and plexiglass by Jane Sager, in which signs and metaphors emerge, like the flamboyant voracious crocodiles pursuing graceful light-colored butterflies. The vivid colors are also present in the intense paintings of William Braemer, known above all for his famous coin sculptures, busts and torsos covered with various materials, headless like archaeological finds from the future, which have an ironic and amusing element to them too. Fame also accompanies Carolina Gynning, actress and TV presenter, winner of the Swedish edition of Big Brother, without distracting her from her female portraits with large eyes, “windows of the soul”, with their dark and deep tones accompanied by watery transparencies, using colors that deliberately do not correspond to reality. Strong primary colors are diluted in a variegated palette, but always chromatically decisive, in Tiril's abstraction. Each work is charged with pathos, which has been emotionally intuited through Tiril’s fertile inspiration of an ‘enlightened’ moment, allowing the viewer to perceive the work’s transcendental nature. The installations by the Dutch artist Marianne Jansen are related to the magic of dance and theater. The installation that she is making for Florence is dedicated to Syrian ballet dancer Ahmad Joudeh (protagonist of Dance or die, documentary by journalist Roozbeh Kaboly), who danced – an ethereal messenger of peace - in a war-torn Syria, in the ancient Roman amphitheater at Palmira.

These and other great artists who form the OpenArtCode group for many years, such as David Harry, Sara Palleria, Max Werner, Evelyne Huet, Marco Aurelio Rey, Sinae Lee and Marybel Gallegos, will all be meeting and exhibiting in Florence in April.

Reliving these spaces today means creating a dialogue between the culture of the Renaissance and the search for languages and styles that are typical of contemporary art. The Mediceo Laurenziano complex is undoubtedly a fascinating and exciting place. It unites different structures, each rich in historical, cultural and artistic references, including: the Basilica of San Lorenzo and the Old Sacristy, entrusted to Filippo Brunelleschi and Donatello carved the pulpits; the crypt houses the Treasure of San Lorenzo, Cosimo the Elder’s monumental tomb and Donatello’s tomb (hence the name Salone di Donatello); the Medici Chapels with the Medici family mausoleum; the New Sacristy, designed by Michelangelo and the Laurentian Library, begun by Michelangelo and completed by Vasari and Ammannati.

Climaveneta units installed in successful shopping centres all over Europe

New shopping centre developments in Europe
According to the latest European Shopping Centre Development Report there is an increasing number of new shopping centre developments, after a weak first half of the year in 2016. If the entire expected built area in Europe will be delivered on time, the total number of the shopping centres will increase from 156.3 million square meters - recorded at the end of the first half of 2016 - to 164.4 million square meters by the end of 2017. In a ranking of European countries with the greatest square metres of new space, Italy ranked fourth, after Turkey, Russia, and France, with 93,000 square meters of new GLA completed in the first half of 2016. The capitalization rates are currently low, promising an appreciation of the assets over time, and are attracting many investors in Italy. A representative case of this trend is the newly opened ELNÃ’S Shopping in Roncadelle, the largest center in Brescia.

Not only new shopping malls
The slowness of the scheduling process and the difficulties related to the implementation of new malls has led to an increase in the expansion of existing centres. In the second half of 2016, 1 out of 5 interventions in Europe covered the renovation and expansion of existing centres. Real estate owners are committed to make their shopping centres continually attractive to end users, by placing elements that can add value to their customer experience. An example of this trend is the refurbishment of the shopping centre O’Parinor, opened in 1974, it is now one of the five largest centres in the Ile-de-France area, Paris. It has just been renovated and enlarged through a major restructuring program, concerning the building, the systems and the opening of new interior spaces.

Sustainability and green certifications
Both in new and in refurbished shopping malls there is an increased attention to topics related to respecting the environment and sustainability. If, on one hand, more and more brands choose the most suitable shopping center to meet the requirements of their environmental policies, on the other, real estate owners tend to invest more in sustainability to add value to their developments. An example is the new Adigeo mall. Built in the refurbished industrial site, Office Adige, and being a part of the Adige City masterplan, the new Adigeo shopping centre has a total gross built area of 72,000 sqm and more than 140 shops. It will open at the end of March. In line with the social responsibility policy of the property, Adigeo is undergoing LEED GOLD certification.

The importance of technological systems
As a result, technological systems today are playing a key role in the development of a successful shopping center. LED lighting, innovative lift systems, efficient air conditioning and treatment systems, photovoltaic panels, rainwater collection, and BMS systems have quickly become key elements to make buildings efficient and well performing, while ensuring at the same time the best ‘customer experience’ to their visitors.

Focus on HVAC
When talking about technological systems, something worthy to note is the air conditioning system, specifically for the benefits it can bring both in terms of interior comfort and energy efficiency. In modern shopping centers it is in fact necessary to design high performance and flexible HVAC systems, able to offer the ideal temperature in the malls and in public spaces, in small, medium, and large shops, both in summer and in winter, during the relative calm throughout the week or during the crowded weekends. The same system has to reduce energy consumption and on site CO2 emissions, exploiting renewables if possible, and granting the highest acoustic comfort to the end users. Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics and IT Cooling Systems, thanks to the vast experience of its brand Climaveneta, designs, manufactures, and markets high efficiency, reliable, economically viable, eco-sustainable air conditioning solutions for shopping centres.

ELNÃ’S, Adigeo, O’Parinor: Climaveneta is there!
So it is not by chance that the main new shopping centers in Italy; ELNÃ’S Shopping and Adigeo are both air conditioned by Climaveneta units. The HVAC system of the ELNÃ’S Shopping is based on Climaveneta air conditioning units: 6 NECS N/B1716 reversible heat pumps, 10 WET/RTF water source roof top with variable water flow system. In addition, 10 WIZARD air handling units, for a total air flow of about 250.000 m3/h, have been installed to grant perfect comfort all year round. The Climaveneta units are linked to the BMS to improve the management of energy consumption.
At the Adigeo Mall the HVAC system has been designed following the LEED prerequisites, with a strong focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. 16 WHISPER ENTHALPY air source roof top units by Climaveneta have been installed, for a total air flow of 500.000 m3/h, and 1 air to air reversible heat pump NECS-N/CA in Class A efficiency.

Furthermore, even the new HVAC system of the refurbished O’Parinor shopping centre is based on 2 high efficiency Climaveneta water cooled chillers; FOCS2-W/CA/S 9003, for a total cooling capacity of 4.470 kW. The units have been selected in high efficiency version: with innovative optimized compressors and high performing heat exchangers, which enhance EER values up to 5,1 for Eurovent standard conditions.

There are hundreds of shopping centers all over the world with Climaveneta units installed, click this link to learn where they are: http://www.climaveneta.com/EN/Projects/By-Application/34/shopping-centre/

The futuristic building was designed by Zaha Hadid and its shape was inspired by the nearby Bouregreg River. The project, part of a national programme of cultural development, includes a 1800-seat theatre, an open-air amphitheatre with a capacity of 7,000 people, a second experimental performance / rehearsal spaces, and a restaurant for 350 people.

To combine perfect internal comfort and high energy performance of the building, the HVAC system was designed starting from Climaveneta high efficiency units: 2 multi-purpose heat pumps NECS-Q/B 3218 and 1 air cooled chiller NECS/B 3218. The system is therefore able to provide the ideal temperature and humidity level inside the building all year round, even producing simultaneous cooling and heating when necessary, thanks to the multi-purpose units installed. The system has a total cooling capacity of 2,500 kW, granting an ideal temperature even in the Moroccan hot summers.

vWIN as three main aims:

Scientific research & meetings

Humanitarian missions

Social and Sport activities promoting public venous & health awareness

The first rationale of the foundation is the improvement of the scientific knowledge about the most severe venous conditions, also considering that the important scientific journal Lancet, in 2015 pointed out the need of increasing our society performance in thrombo-embolism management.

vWIN already published scientific paper on the topic, it has supported humanitarian missions in Central America for several years and it has created a social and sport public venous awareness international initiative called Game Over to Leg Failure. In order to favour an easy and effective communication an important website was created, by using WordPress: one of the easiest to be used CMS.

The website is also dedicated to the VI International Inter-university meeting in Phlebology, Lymphology and Aesthetic Medicine. The meeting will be held in the spectacular island of Albarella, near Venice, from September 6 to 9. On September 9, the island will be opened to the public for a venous awarenss day, in which combining pleasant and educational activities, favouring social and medical interaction.

The website is institutional even if not complex and, since dynamic, it will be managed centrally.
Social networks will be involved, so to reach out whatever type of participants 24 hr a day, also considering the several involved international universities.

STAY TUNED…a lot of great news …and a spectacular international raffle prize will be given.

Luigi Pecci Centre
Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems, through its brand Climaveneta, supplied the air conditioning system for the rebirth of the Luigi Pecci Centre, in Florence.
After 6 years of construction and being closed for 3 years, The Luigi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art has once again reopened in Autumn 2016. It is the first institution in Italy to be built from scratch with the specific intent to exhibit, collect, preserve, document, and distribute the most advanced artistic research.

Renovation and extension work
To ensure sufficient appreciation of this heritage, at the beginning of the twenty-first Century, the Pecci Centre decided to double its exhibition space and, at the same time, to restructure the original building of Italo Gamberini.
The extension was designed by Maurice Nio, one the most original interpreters of the architectural culture of our time. The extension work began in 2006 and focused on building a new wing with a strong architectural impact which is linked to the original structure, which has undergone a full renovation during this time.
Furthermore, in addition to more than doubling the size of the exhibition space, the new centre also has an archive and specialised library which will include over 50,000 volumes, an outdoor theatre, a cinema/auditorium, a performance space in the galleries, a bookshop, a restaurant, and a pub/bistro.

Focus on sustainability
The new Pecci centre is innovative not only from an architectural point of view, but also in terms of its state-of-the-art and sustainable mechanical systems.
The lighting and air conditioning systems, that are the main energy expenditure in every kind of building, have been designed to offer the best internal comfort for the vistitors of the Centre, while guarantying minimal impact both on the running costs and on the environment.

The HVAC system
From the plant engineering point of view, the operation is characterized by the unique shape of the building, the large presence of windows for the contribution of natural light and the functional continuity with the existing structure. The intensive preparatory work carried out by the experts involved in the project, made it possible to optimize the position of the plant room to combine the needs of the air conditioning and lighting systems.
The heart of the plant room is composed of 2 Climaveneta NECS-WQ 0512 water cooled multi-purpose heat pumps, controlled by MANAGER 3000.
The multi-purpose heat pumps can work in cooling only, heating only, and simultaneous heating and cooling mode, to satisfy the building’s needs, all year round.
By choosing multi-purpose heat pumps for the production of both hot and cold water, the HVAC plant designers have selected a fully electric solution, turning down any non-renewable, fossil fuel based system. This kind of choice has been possible thanks to the availability, on the market, of reliable heat pumps, that can work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, even without a traditional boiler as back-up.
Mr. Dante di Carlo, HVAC plant designer at Pecci Centre, says: “The multi-purpose heat pumps allow a simpler plant design, as they go beyond the traditional complexity of seasonal settings, heat pump-chiller, and when they produce simultaneous heating and cooling, they exploit the waste energy (both heating and cooling), maximizing the building’s energy efficiency. This led to an advantage in terms of energy efficiency and then in savings on running costs. At Pecci Centre we were able to use water-source units, the most efficient from an energy point of view, thanks to an artesian well, thus exploiting the brim water, fully available on site.”
Thanks to the positive result obtained from the first installation, the same team of designers also planned a substitution of all the old heating system in the original building of Italo Gamberini, with multi-purpose heat pumps. The first step in this direction has been done with the refurbishment of the cinema/auditorium, where the autonomous HVAC system is based on a Climaveneta NECS-Q-0262 unit. In this case the designers have selected an air source multi-purpose unit, to get a simpler system in terms of maintenance, that has to be managed by the user of the cinema/auditorium.

Climaveneta for the arts
The experience gained in over 45 years’ experience in the professional air conditioning market and in several museums projects worldwide, allows Climaveneta to offer the Pecci Centre, the most suitable HVAC solution in terms of comfort, efficiency, and sustainability. Furthermore, in museums it is also fundamental to address noise, humidity, and temperature levels, to protect the exhibited artwork. It is not by chance that relevant institutions like Museo del Bicentenario in Argentina, The City Arts Centre in UK, The Triana Museum of ceramic in Spain, The Natural History Museum in France and The Prada Foundation, Muse and Alfa Romeo Museum have chosen Climaveneta as partner for their sustainable and efficient HVAC systems.

Climaveneta units for the new emergency complex of the University Hospitals of Foggia

Bassano del Grappa, December 2016: The reorganization plan of the Apulian hospital network has been approved earlier this year. The idea was developed to adapt the healthcare delivery in the region to the new standards established by national legislation. This is not aimed at cutting the number of beds, but rather to reorganize the existing structures, streamlining small regional centers and especially by strengthening the main hub. Among these is the University Hospitals of Foggia, the second largest hospital of Puglia.

With the reorganization plan in mind, this facility aims to achieve the ambitious goal of a hospital of "Excellence", understood as a health facility where there all the functions of modern medicine are present. To achieve this goal work is underway to build a new emergency-urgent complex. The structure, which will be completed by the spring of next year, will host First Aid, Emergency Surgery, CICU (cardiac intensive care unit), Intensive Care, Stroke Unit, a total of 250 beds.

In health-care structures, air conditioning systems must not only guarantee the well-being of patients, but also meet the needs of the processes related to medical activities, such as operating rooms. The operating department represents one of the most technologically advanced nuclei within the hospital. The environmental parameters on which the system must be constantly monitored are; the temperature, the relative humidity, the degree of contamination of the air, and the supply air speed. For these reasons, the air conditioning system is, especially in newly constructed buildings, a real auxiliary system for medical activity, thus it assumes paramount importance.

The new complex of the Hospitals of Foggia was therefore fitted with an air conditioning system based on 5 Climaveneta chillers and heat pumps with high efficiency, combined with 31 WIZARD air handling units.
In more detail, there are; 1 multi-purpose heat pump ERACS-Q / SL-CA 3222, 1 reversible heat pump FOCS-N / SL-4822 and 3 liquid refrigerant FOCS2 / SL-CA-E 4822. All the units are air-cooled, in the super silent version of class A, with considerable total cooling and heating capacity: 3183 kW for cooling and 1909 kW for heating. Hospital HVAC systems should always be slightly oversized, first to ensure continuous operation in case of failure or maintenance of a unit, because when it comes to hospitals, and second because hospitals are often characterized by continuous evolution, linked to the development of medical technology, the possible changes in user requirements, and also possible future expansions. Furthermore, as hospitals hold continuous operations every day and throughout the year, the air conditioning unit must be convenient to access and easy to maintain, thus minimizing interference with medical activities. The reliability of Climaveneta units, their flexible operation, the multi-purpose units’ ability to simultaneously satisfy the cold and hot demand requirements without implementing any operating mode settings, the possibility to produce hot water at 55 ° by the selected heat pumps, are all features that allow a simplified system, which reduces maintenance and at the same time maximizes the efficiency of the entire building.

As for the air treatment units, it should be noted that the 31 WIZARD units were selected with the internal parts made of complete stainless steel, as required by the hospital applications. The AHU is serviced by service operators, where contamination between air streams needs to be avoided. In addition, the units are also equipped with high efficiency dual battery recovery systems. All AHU provided have the silent version to maximize the acoustic comfort of the patients, and with variable flow to reduce energy consumption of the building. It should be highlighted that the Climaveneta units comply with ErP, also known as Eco-design, the framework directive which, through national regulations governs the eco-design requirements for all energy-using products.

Cristiano Dal Seno, Climaveneta’s AHU Development Manager says: "The CTA WIZARD was born from the vast Climaveneta experience in the HVAC industry. It is a reliable and efficient product, successfully installed in numerous applications in hospitals around the world, where in addition to the comfort of patients and doctors it is necessary to ensure reliability and efficiency for air conditioning and air treatment." He continues: "In hospitals it is necessary to ensure the highest air quality, especially in environments where there is a high level of attention to patients and health operators. For this reason, we seek constructive solutions that facilitate the operation of a sanitizing unit with smooth surfaces and with minimal fissures. In addition, it is important to use of high quality materials capable of withstanding frequent cleanings with aggressive chemicals".

Efficiency, low noise, and reliability, these are the characteristics of a Climaveneta supply for the new emergency-urgency complex of the Hospitals of Foggia, which will be delivered by the end of this year to allow the start-up to be completed in time for the opening of the structure planned for spring 2017.

His passion for music, photography and computer science blend in Giuseppe Dio's first album. Electronic sounds, vintage analogue atmospheres and melodies, that are reminiscent of the creations of electronic music's pioneers, are tied together by the concepts of light, shadow and color.

Giuseppe Dio, an Information Technology professional from Udine (Italy) has for many years played and composed music just for pleasure, uploaded remixes on Soundcloud and Acidplanet and re-edited many tracks, with genres ranging from New Age, to easy listening and dance.

Published last September, “Lights Shadows And Colors” is Giuseppe’s first album of his original music and is also the result of the experience gained remixing and re-editing tracks by artists like Moby and Jean-Michel Jarre.
From the very first track “Blancheur”, the 12 instrumental easy listening tracks are reminiscent of the vintage electronic pioneers Tangerine Dream, Vangelis and Jean-Michel Jarre.

“I grew up with the music of Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Tangerine Dream. I fell in love with vintage sound emulation and the fusion of melodies with ambient atmospheres and analogue noise.”

The titles of the album and of each track refer to the concepts of light, shadow and color, as seen through photography. “For years, between a remix and a re-edit, I have collected many short compositions of various kinds: melodies, ambient sequences, grooves... I wanted to make an album that had its musical coherence, a common thread, so I thought of the photos I like to take, those where the main elements are light and color... I thought of the shadows at sunset, the night lights, the backlight contrast and then I selected fifteen songs — which became twelve - emotionally related to light, shadow and color. A sort of an exchange between two passions: music and photography.”

This is an album with a deliberately vintage and analogue sound, but composed, arranged, mixed and mastered using the most contemporary digital technologies. “The whole album was created at home, on my computer, using software synth emulation and state of the art mixing and mastering tools. Another blend of two passions of mine: music and computer science.”

“Lights, Shadows and Colors” was released in digital format via CDBaby and the tracks have been recorded on Patamu and Soundreef . You can buy the album on CDBaby.com and on all major digital stores (iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc.), or listen to it on Spotify, Deezer, Napster, Tidal, Yandex and other streaming platforms.

Sustainable process cooling by Climaveneta for the most innovative car factories in Europe

Bassano del Grappa, November 2016: According to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) 12.2 million people - or 5.6% of the EU employed population - work in the automobile industry. Striking but not unbelievable considering that after several rocky years, since the 2008 financial crisis, the European car market is growing again. Actually, in 2015 EU passenger car sales grew by 9.3% compared to 2014, bringing the total number of cars sold to 13.7 million units and sales are also expected to increase by approximately 5% in 2016, exceeding 14 million units by the end of the year.

It is also important to highlight how the sector is a key driver of knowledge and innovation, representing Europe's largest private contributor to R&D, with €44.7 billion invested annually. Therefore, it is not by chance that the automotive factories are the most innovative and technologically advanced in Europe. New production plants are now equipped with robotics and automation that have created safer and more productive working environments. Furthermore, they are more flexible and adaptable, achieving better integration between buildings and processes and being more efficient in terms of materials and energy consumption. All while providing safe and healthy working conditions.

Germany, with its 44 plants, is not only the country with the greatest number of automobile assembly and engine production centres in Europe, but it also hosts some of the most advanced and sustainable automotive plants. For example, the “Blue factory" is the innovative Volkswagen Plant in Emden and it aims at achieving a CO2-neutral status for its production processes by implementing a host of projects regarding environmental protection and sustainability. At the end of 2009 an "energy forest" was planted across a previously unused area of the plant grounds covering 400,000 square metres. Promoting wind energy is another key consideration in achieving sustainability at the Emden plant. The Emden public utilities have been using part of the plant's grounds for wind turbines since 1994 and there are also plans to further increase the contribution of wind energy in the future. In order to better use the available renewable energy sources, the plant is also making progress in using district heating supplied by a biomass power plant and since 2012 has been creating a new geothermal plant. More than 5,000 probes have been connected to the 4 Climaveneta high efficiency TECS2-W/H 1053 chillers which will provide the best air conditioning in the new bodywork production plant in Emden.

Even BMW has built a pioneering production plant in Germany. With over 5.400 employees and 45 hectare built-up area, the BMW Plant Leipzig is a masterpiece of architecture, efficiency and sustainability. The iconic central building designed by the recently passed away Architect Zaha Hadid elegantly links the several production blocks, organized for maximum sustainability and environmentally friendly use of resources. For the process cooling of the production blocs they have chosen Climaveneta BH/SRAT and NECS air-cooled high efficiency chillers, which feature extended operating limits, an extraordinary energy efficiency ratio at full and part loads, 3000 kW total cooling capacity, and no CO2 local emissions for this state-of-the-art HVAC system.

In addition the Volkswagen Plant in Bratislava has designed a new HVAC system based on free-cooling technology to maximize the total energy efficiency. 8 Climaveneta FX-FC units in free cooling mode have been installed: the fluid is cooled by outside air, thus reducing the load of the compressors until it is completely canceled, with an energy cost very close to zero. Furthermore, 20 Climaveneta FOCS and NECS units with a total cooling capacity of about 10.000kW have been installed to replace the previous air conditioners, improving the total energy efficiency and reducing the running costs of the plant. Climaveneta units have been selected for their high efficiency and environmental respect, as they do not emit any CO2 pollution.

Besides these examples every other major European manufacturer has significantly invested in reducing the environmental impact of vehicle production over the last decade. In fact, to improve production quality, while respecting the sustainability goals imposed by EU regulations and by their own social responsibility policies, all car companies have created specialized production plants of excellence all over Europe or upgraded their existing ones.

When dealing with process cooling and sustainability, even in the most technologically advanced production plants in the world like car factories, Climaveneta is the ideal partner to achieve the safest and healthiest working conditions while respecting the environment.

WIZARD units on the top of the new Hadid Tower

The number of Climaveneta units installed in new skyscrappers in Italy and worldwide is continuing to grow. As a matter of fact, several Climaveneta units have just been installed at the Hadid Tower, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, is under construction in the city centre of Milan.

The Hadid Tower is 170 meters high and is composed of 44 floors. From 2018 it will house the headquarters of the Generali Group, owner of the whole Citylife area on which it stands. The total volume consists of a 39 floors of the office building, which is on top of a 4 floor, multifunctional podium, which will house a multi-screen cinema, some restaurants, and a commercial area.

Both buildings are air conditioned by Climaveneta units: AHUs with a total air flow of 300,000 m3/h for the tower and a combination of AHUs and Roof Top units with a total air flow of 150,000 m3/h for the podium. A distinctive trait of this challenging project is that the AHUs installed in the tower have been supplied with a high efficiency double rotary enthalpy recovery and a double ventilation system, which guarantees that the units function without any interruption. In addition, since 4 of the 8 AHUs on the tower have just been installed on the 42nd floor, the installer decided to lift the components of these units up by a crane and then assemble the units directly, in this way he was able to manage the whole process in the best possible way. Upon unit assembly they will complete the construction of the floor.

Another aspect of the HVAC system is that the 11 roof top units installed to air condition the multi-screen cinema in the podium have been equipped with a rotary enthalpy recovery. This feature allows for the recovery of both sensitive and latent heat from the air discharged in both summer and winter. The latent recovery allows dehumidification in the summer and humidification in the winter in a very efficient way.

Efficiency, flexibility, and adaptability: these are the key words of this new and challenging Climaveneta project.

The centre is located just 500 meters from the motorway exit, that is the main entrance to Verona city, and can be easily reached by 585,000 people living within half an hour drive.

Mr. Segala, execution architect and planning supervisor says: «The project is very important from a city plan point of view because it regenerates a brownfield site on this main route to Verona centre. Adigeo is the most important refurbishment project in this area and will be for sure an incentive to the modernization of a whole part of the city with an high potential.»

The key player of the project is ECE, that in April 2015 bought 100% of the project from CDS Holding. The company is the European leader in the retail real estate market with the management of more than 196 shopping centres in 14 different countries.
In line with ECE social responsability policy, Adigeo is undergoing the LEED GOLD certification. To maximise the energy efficiency of the building, it has been essential to combine good shell insulation, highly performing glasses, with a good solar shield, and innovative M&E systems. In this respect, at Adigeo many sustainable and efficient choices were made, such us rain water recovery, white polyolefin roof to avoid hot islands, timers and snorkels installation in the taps for a water consumption reduction up to 20%. Furthermore, there’s a large use of renewable sources, such as a fotovoltaic field with a total power of 500kW, solar panels for sanitary hot water production and installation of air-source heat pump for the air conditioning of the mall.

FOCUS ON THE HVAC SYSTEM

The HVAC system has been designed following the LEED prerequisites, with a strong focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. 16 WHISPER ENTHALPY air source roof top units by Climaveneta have been installed, for a total air flow of 500.000 m3/h, and 1 air to air reversible heat pump NECS-N/CA in Class A efficiency.

Mr Zenucchi, the M&E designer says: «At Adigeo we have designed the M&E systems using state-of-the-art technologies now available on the market. The goal was to combine the most efficient performances of the building and the respect of the investor’s budget».
Going in details, the HVAC system is divided into three different parts: the mall is air conditioned by high efficiency WHISPER roof top units, able to exploit the enthalpic rotary heat recovery for the pre-heating of the external fresh air and to recover the rejected heat for the air renewal getting very positive COP values. Furthermore, the highly energy-efficient plug-fan type, with backward blades, are directly coupled to the motor, meaning they boast intrinsic reliability and efficiency due to the absence of belts and related energy loss.
Small shops are served by a mixed system based on air-air units and thermostatic loop. This grants high performances, above all in mid seasons because it takes advantage of the free-cooling effect between external and internal shops, with a very high seasonal average efficiency.
The air renewal system is the same for all shops and is based on a heat pump working for the pre heating in winter time and for the pre cooling in summer period. Medium shops, with a surface of more than 400 sqm, are equipped with independent HVAC systems.

To grant a perfect internal comfort, a great attention was paid to air distribution avoiding any air draft through the installation of high quality air diffusors, always trying to combine architectural, aesthetic and technical needs. To keep always the best air conditions, F7 and F8 high efficiency filtration systems were selected both on AHU and roof top units, with a continuous monitoring of the internal air quality.

Stefano Venturini, Project Manager at Panzeri SpA says: «Nowadays technological systems play an important role in buildings, even contributing to enhance their economic value. On the other side we have to consider both investors and end users, who now pay a great attention toward comfort and proper air treatment, than in the past, when they were considered secondary aspects».

The work began with the demolition of the original building, built in 1882, and continued with the construction of the new building in compliance with the existing urban constraints. Furthermore, the project makes great use of structural and mechanical system solutions to improve the energy performance thus reducing the environmental impact of the new building. It is based on two basement floors for garage, a ground floor for commercial use and several blocks from four to six floors, for a total of 25 apartments of different sizes and types.

The integration among the architectural components - structures, windows, doors and energy-efficient systems - is designed to ensure the best internal comfort, in terms of temperature and humidity, the environmental impact and energy cost reduction. The building is in class A Cened and has an energy requirement of 21.18 kWh / m².

The centralized heating, cooling and domestic hot water production is based on INTEGRA multi-purpose heat pumps by Climaveneta, connected to the geothermal probes. In detail they installed 2 ERACS2 WQ-2152 and 2 ERACS2-Q / SL-CA 2722 to guarantee optimal comfort and high energy efficiency throughout the year, without releasing any CO2 emissions into the environment.

The Ikea Museum, opened on June 30th, is a 7,000 sqm structure located in Almhult, Sweden. It is housed in what was once the very first IKEA store, opened in 1958 and celebrates the company’s 70 years of history and is expected to become a tourist attraction. The four floors include fully furnished rooms, old catalogues, living spaces of the future and exhibits dedicated to the store's most popular and not-so-popular items.

Considering the high number of visitors expected, the museum requires a reliable and efficient HVAC system both in visitor areas and in technical rooms, in order to ensure a pleasant visiting experience, in line with the values of environmental respect celebrated by Ikea all over the world.

For this reason a NX/K 1214P air source chiller with scroll compressors by Climaveneta was installed for the air conditioning of the museum. The local temperate climate has made it possible to equip the cooling system of the technical rooms with 2 NECS-FC chillers. As a matter of fact thanks to the Climaveneta advanced free cooling technology system, it is possible to use outdoor temperature as a free source for cooling much more often than traditional free cooling chillers, thus maximising the energy saving achievable.

Always attentive to new means of communication, they have a strong relevance in social networks, especially on Facebook and YouTube. Their song Pray to Stay has already been broadcast by more then 60 radio (Virgin Radio, Caterpillar from Radio Rai 2..), Repubblica.it and chosen as the Video of the Week by Italy Rock Tv.

You might think: "One of the many bands that rock's in Italy..."

It's not actually difficult to explain how they achieved an incredible success both in Ukraine and Belarus and who are about to get in Russia.

"Everything still seems unreal..." said Allen, "...since I was a little boy I used to sing imagining an enchanted crowd and that dream has now come true."
"Our music like, people are involved, they sing our songs and we do our best to involve them and convey them our energy".

It was built in record time and with a total area of 55,000 square meters, 165 shops and nearly 4,000 parking spaces. As in the tradition of IKEA Centres, the name of the building has a concrete reference to the territory. As a matter of fact, in the dialect of Brescia, "el nos" means "ours" and refers to the shopping center’s goal to create a meeting place for people from Brescia. Elnos SHOPPING will also be the only shopping center in Lombardy with an IKEA store inside.

The HVAC system of the shopping centre is based on Climaveneta air conditioning units. 6 NECS N/B1716 reversible heat pumps, 10 WET/RTF water source roof top with variable water flow system and 10 WIZARD air handling units, for a total air flow of about 250.000 m3/h, the units are installed to grant perfect comfort all year round. The Climaveneta units are linked to the BMS to improve the management of energy consumption.

Alongside the artworks by contemporary artists who are exhibiting at Palazzo Malaspina, stunning classic cars will also be the protagonists of the Festival.

The fourth edition of the Chianti Star Festival will take place from 18 September to 4 October 2016 at Palazzo Malaspina in San Donato in Poggio. 18 international artists will be exhibiting paintings, sculpture, photography and digital art and will participate in the collateral: meetings, tastings and stargazing at the Chianti Observatory (Osservatorio Polifunzionale del Chianti).

The exciting novelty of the 2016 edition is “Strade Bianche, Vino Rosso”, an elegant classic car rally organized in collaboration with ACI Florence and the Scuderia Biondetti. “Strade Bianche, Vino Rosso”, a sporting and cultural event that follows both tradition and innovation, fits perfectly with the theme of the Festival dedicated to the meeting between art and science. The technology and design of the best manufacturers have created cars considered by many as works of art (as recent record sale results of classic cars demonstrate).

The “Strade Bianche, Vino Rosso” rally will take place on Sunday 18th September 2016 to coincide with the inauguration of the Chianti Star Festival. The participation of the Scuderia Biondetti at this event “Strade Bianche, Vino Rosso” provides an added value with the presence of these extremely important classic cars. The route will take the classic car enthusiasts through the heart of Chianti, starting from Panzano in Chianti to the Badia a Passignano, the new Cantina Antinori at Bargino, to arrive at 6pm at Palazzo Malaspina in San Donato in Poggio.

The Chianti Star Festival is organized by Studio Abba in Florence, in collaboration with Giada Rodani, the Chianti Observatory (Osservatorio polifunzionale del Chianti), the ‘Pro Loco’ of San Donato, the Anèmic Association and the ‘Giuseppe Verdi’ Philharmonic Association. The Festival is held under the patronage of the Region of Tuscany and the local town council, ‘Unione Comunale dei Chianti Fiorentino’.

Since the first edition held in 2013, the Festival has brought protagonists of the contemporary art world and science to the Florentine Chianti region, for an exciting series of meetings, conferences, concerts and shows. Each year, the exhibition is judged by a jury and one artist is awarded with the Chianti Star Festival prize. Jury members are: Roberto Casalbuoni, theoretical physicist; Anchise Tempestini, art historian; Giada Rodani, curator of contemporary art exhibitions; Gabriele Rizza, journalist, expert in cinema and theatre; Massimo Ricci, architect, member of the UNESCO Central Forum; David Baroncelli, Mayor of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. The award and symbol of the Chianti star Festival is a terracotta sculpture created by Eugenio Riotto at the Montecchio furnaces and in this way, the material par excellence of the Chianti region has been used. Another “star” of the Festival, together with international contemporary artists who exhibit at Palazzo Malaspina, are the stars in the literal sense, which can be observed from the Observatory of Chianti, as well as typical products of the region, including olive oil and wine.

The Chianti Star Festival award is also presented to an individual who, for various reasons has helped to promote the area or the Festival itself. Among the past recipients of this award are: the astronaut Paolo Nespoli (who will return into space for the third time in 2017), the architect Marco Casamonti who designed the new Cantina Antinori at Bargino and Albiera Antinori representing the family who commissioned the building; actors Ennio Fantastichini (Enrico Fermi “I ragazzi di via Panisperna by Gianni Amelio) and Giorgio Colangeli (who before becoming an actor was trained as a physicist); and Maestro Bruno Canino.

Artists participating in the 2016 edition

Lawrence Armstrong
Trond Are Berge
Stefania Bertini Cavelti
William Braemer
Mary Brilli
Joan Criscione
Beatrice de Domenico
Maiada El Khalifa
Sylvie Hamou
David Harry
Sumio Inoue
Michael Katz
Fiorella Noci
Tereza Ordyan
Chris Reichenbaum
Susanne Sjögren
Enzo Trapani
Max Werner

The new HQ of the most important Italian software company will be composed of 14 floors and will host 350 workers, becoming an innovation and progress symbol not only for Zucchetti, but also for the whole city of Lodi. Furthermore, the building is a good example of sustainability and is undergoing the LEED certification.

The tower, designed by the architect Marco Visconti, is characterized by a steel cage with a shading effect that covers the entire building and is a technologically advanced model, almost self-sufficient from an energetic point of view.

For the internal comfort of the building they have installed 2 NECS-WQ 1204 multi-purpose heat pumps by Climaveneta, for the production of both hot and cold water, even simultaneously. These units are thus able to work both in summer and in winter without any seasonal switching but above all without any CO2 emissions, thus helping to hit the LEED certification targets.

Sustainable comfort for the innovative business location in the middle of the emerging Sub-Saharan African market

Bassano del Grappa, 1st September 2016: The Botswana Innovation Hub (BIH) presently under construction is strategically located on a new 57 hectare innovation park, near the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone, the capital city and business centre of Botswana.

The Hub, which creates the impetus and focal point of the park shall provide state-of-the art facilities to attract domestic, regional and global knowledge-intensive high-tech innovation companies. With its open plan and strategic internal space planning, its aim is to promote a working culture with emphasis on the ‘cross pollination’ of ideas between individuals and within companies, whilst promoting local entrepreneurship, which can ultimately compete in appropriate worldwide markets.

This new ±46,000 m² iconic building development of futuristic architectural appearance, consists of three multi-storey blocks (referred to as Bars), sharing a common podium housing a 23,000 m² semi-enclosed super-basement carpark and service plantrooms beneath. The Bars are interconnected by single and two-storey link bridges, which both span and enclose landscaped amenity gardens flowing seamlessly into the undulating landscape beyond the podium.

The BIH is designed with a Shell & Core approach, which allows for greater flexibility in the interior space distribution, making it possible to rearrange and customize the interior space at any time, according to the tenant’s requests.

As part of the building’s sustainability drive, an undulating green roof provides home for indigenous grasses, whilst further merging the building form into the surrounding site’s landscaping. Feature roof overhangs, favourable building orientation, a highly bespoke façade, courtyards accommodating the amenity gardens and extensive horizontal bris soleil structures all combine to provide the building with extensive passive solar shading. These features are further enhanced by a high performance building façade, low water usage faucets and a strategic collection of surface water for irrigation purposes.

FOCUS ON HVAC

The building is designed to exploit the benefits of exposing the building’s structural thermal mass to moderate the internal environment within recognised thermal comfort criteria. This is achieved by effectively circulating a conditioned air supply through exposed ‘TermoDeck’ proprietary hollow-core concrete slabs, which form the floors and ceilings/roofs of the building structure. Such approaches typically using the thermal capacity of concrete are often referred to as Fabric Energy Storage (FES) systems or Thermally Active Buildings (TABS).

At BIH one of the main savings is in maximum electrical demand charges, as the concrete slab is pre-cooled during the night (also using the free-cooling, when suitable outdoor temperatures prevail), which assists in greatly reducing the amount of cooling required during normal working hours in Botswana’s predominantly hot semi-arid climate, where summertime temperatures can exceed 40°C.As a result, the maximum daytime peak power consumption associated with air conditioning and ventilation can be reduced by up to 50%, compared to similar buildings using conventional air conditioning and construction methods in Botswana.

These energy savings are reflected in the capacity of the central cooling and heating plant located in the super-basement energy centre, along with electrical switchgear and water storage tanks. Both chilled and heating water is generated by a combination of three INTEGRA multi-purpose ERACS2-Q XL-CA 2722 and one high efficiency air cooled chiller i-FX (1+i) CA 2722, all supplied by Climaveneta. These machines provide the building with a total space cooling and heating capacity of up to 2,477 kW and 1,764 kW respectively. All the units can operate at full load in parallel to meet the peak cooling loads. This arrangement allows for one machine to be off-line for repair or maintenance, whilst still being able to meet the building’s cooling load throughout most of the year. The multi-purpose INTEGRA units are able to operate in either cooling-only, cooling with simultaneous heating (this operating mode will be used predominantly during mid-season, giving EER’s of up to 9.3) and heating-only mode depending on the prevailing cooling/ heating loads of the building. The i-FX (1+i) CA 2722 chiller is primarily used when peak cooling loads are required, however all the units are operated on a “lead-leg” duty share basis. The four Climaveneta machines work with a four-pipe variable primary and secondary chilled and heating water circuit pipework arrangement.

Paul Norton, the Mechanical Director at North Atlantic Engineering Consultants based in Gaborone indicated «that the combination of the hollowcore thermally active slab and the Climaveneta machines provide the basis for an environmentally responsible and innovative engineering solution, befitting the ethos of the BIH».

Sustainability, efficiency, reliability and flexibility are the keywords of the innovative HVAC system especially designed for the Botswana Innovation Hub, an innovative business location at the centre of an emerging Sub-Saharan African market.

It is based on the construction of a new 80 rooms hotel, a 39 suites boutique hotel and some residential villas for a total of 300 beds, in addition to a restaurant, a boutique, a wellness centre and an exclusive private beach club. Even the golf club, already well know all over the word, will have a new setting both in terms of green and clubhouse.

Luigi Candida, Sales & Marketing Department at Is Molas S.p.A. says: “Is Molas is more than a touristic and sport destination, it is a lifestyle and a completely new way of living the Sardinia Island.
The villas represent a community able to continually interact with the local surrounding and population, completing them. We are here able to offer some exclusive services to let our clients focus only on relax and wellbeing, granting them the maximum comfort without any concern.”

The first step of the development is composed by 15 villas, now under construction on an area between the mountain park and the “Championship Course”, that will be delivered in October 2016.
The villas, designed by Massimiliano Fuksas and his wife Doriana, represent the best of the “made in Italy” style and gather famous partners in terms of architecture and plant design. The most prominent Italian and International brands have so been selected for the frame and the finishing, the lighting and the greenery, the materials and the air conditioning plant.

FOCUS ON HVAC

To grant a perfect comfort in the first 15 villas the M&E designer has selected 15 WWR DHW2 heat pumps, by Climaveneta.
WWR DHW2, part of the Prana range, are reversible water cooled heat pumps able to work 365 days/ year to satisfy the needs of the Resort, open all year round. As a matter of fact thanks to the mild climate at Is Molas it is possible to play outdoor sports even in winter.

Going in depth they take water from some lakes, available in the area, and send it directly to the WWR DHW2 exchanger, through a self-cleaning filter, without using any additive so avoiding any risk of pollution. In winter time the lake water is cooled down from 15°C to 5° C, so giving energy, while in summer it is reheated from 15°C a 30° C, absorbing energy from the consumption.

It is important to say that the lake water temperature changes during the year and in any case it is proven Climaveneta heat pumps can work even if the water temperature cools down to 10°C.
Air distribution comes from radiant panels, highly performing and with very low noise level.

Mr. Enrico Fabris, in charge of HVAC plant designing at Is Molas says:”It has always been important for us to grant the perfect comfort to the most demanding customer at Is Molas without any CO2 emission and without increasing the running costs of the villas. Climaveneta heat pumps are able to combine all these aspects and so we found them the best solution for the all year round air conditioning of this project.”

Each Villa has its own technical room, located under the reserved parking, or closed to them, on the basis of the lot morphology. This solution not only distances any noise or vibration to grant a perfect acoustic comfort, but also grant an independent access to the maintenance service always respecting the privacy of the guests.

Furthermore each Villa has two different hydraulic nets. The one for the drinking water is used for the sanitary scope, while the technical one for the greenery irrigation, the washing of the external floor and the HVAC system. Sanitary hot water is produced by the heat pump and stored in a buffer. During the summer cycle, thanks to the full recovery of the heat, the production of hot water is completely free.

Mr Stefano Cremo, Ai Group Turin, M&E operation manager, says: ”Everything both in designing and building Is Molas resort is focused on environmental respect and sustainability. From preliminary studies and masterplan analysis to hill basins making safe, from landscape compatibility to geological effect, from architectural to mechanical choices the priority has always been to respect and promote the marvelous landscape where the reborn Is Molas Golf Resort is located.”

This modern 11-storey structure with 554 rooms, clinical wards and an heliport, will be inaugurated in March 2017.

Providing patients and medical personnel with ideal temperature and humidity conditions as well as huge amount of sanitary hot water, achieving these with reduced acoustic emissions and highest efficiency, are the key challenges for the HVAC system of the hospital.

To hit this target the Hospital will be equipped with 8 FOCS-N, air source heat pumps with semi hermetic screw compressors, and 1 ERACS2-Q INTEGRA air source unit for simultaneous production of hot and cold water, thus satisfying precisely the air conditioning needs of the structure all year long.
In particular ERACS2-Q multi-purpose heat pump has been chosen in low noise version, in order to reduce noise emissions and ensure occupiers’ comfort. In addition, depending on climate conditions, best operation mode is set completely automatically and independently in order to minimize the absorbed energy in every situation.

Climaveneta units installed in the new Shopping Center in Verona

The refurbishment of the abandoned Officine Adige factory area is called Adige City and was designed by the famous architect Richard Rogers. In the masterplan there is also a mall, Adigeo, with a gross leasable area (GLA) of 42,000 square meters, which will open in 2017 with about 130 shops and services.

The area is located just 500 meters from the A4 motorway exit, which gives access to Verona city center on the main street. It can easily be reached by about 585,000 people in 30 minutes. Free parking for 2,500 cars will be available for the visitors who will reach the center by car. Furthermore the new Metrobus, still under construction, will have a stop in front of the mall, so the centre will also be easy to reach by public transport.

The project for the construction of the first shopping center in Verona city centre was taken over by ECE, the European leader in the shopping center market with a portfolio of 196 centers in over 16 countries. Sustainability has always been an integral component of ECE's company philosophy. The company focuses not on the short-term profit but rather on a long-term approach to remain competitive in the long run.

So the installation of HVAC high efficiency units has had to be kept in mind. 16 Climaveneta WHISPER ENTHALPY, reversible air cooled high efficiency all in one rooftop units, with enthalpy recovery for a total air flow of 500.000 m3/h and one NECS-N/CA, air source heat pump in Class A efficiency.
Filtration, ventilation and air renewal are thus guaranteed by Climaveneta units that, thanks to the heat recovery, are able to ensure a high energy efficiency in the building. As a matter of fact considering the large quantities of fresh air needed to grant a high air quality level, imposed by regulations in force; at Verona Mall it has been necessary to find the best solution capable of combining internal comfort and sustainability.

The new Bodega Garzón winery opened a couple of months ago, located three kilometers from Pueblo Garzon, Maldonado, Uruguay. With an investment of 85 million US dollars, the project includes a sustainable winery spanning 19,050 square meters housing the production of fine wines, a restaurant, a luxury hotel and an exclusive wine club.

The winery is located on an area of 2,000 hectares, where olive oil is already produced, also called “little Tuscany”. So it is not by chance if La Bodega Garzón is listed as #21 among the 52 places in the world to go in 2016, according to the New York Times.

The project is interesting also from an energetic point of view as it is undergoing the LEED certification, achieving energy savings of about 40%, compared to other similar facilities, and producing 40% of its energy needs through mills and photovoltaic panels.
Furthermore the 2014/2015 grape collection allowed Bodega Garzón to become the first sustainable winery built outside the United States, following the requirements of the Green Building Council (USGBC). The goals of this certification program are to enhance transparency and advance the wine industry towards becoming among the best practices in environmental stewardship, conservation of natural resources and socially equitable business practices.

The engineer Gabriel García, in charge of the hvac executive project says “It has been a real pleasure to see this dream come true and to help in the development of such a sustainable project. It is not easy to follow the LEED requirements but in the end I must admit that by doing it you are sure to create something really green and sustainable, able to produce renewable energy instead of wasting fossil fuels and emitting CO2”.

FOCUS ON HVAC

In wineries stable humidity and temperature levels together with clean air quality are directly connected to the quality of the wine in every step of the production from grape harvesting to ageing and from fermentation to testing.

Stable temperature is essential in order to keep the natural features of wine such as taste and aroma, while a proper humidity level is fundamental in avoiding any mould or extreme oxygenation. Finally clear air quality helps to always keep cork and labels in the best condition.

At Bodega Garzon the HVAC system is thus based on high efficiency Climaveneta units: 6 WIZARD air handling units working together with 2 ERACS2-Q smart heat pumps for the production of hot and cold water. WIZARD is the ultimate solution in air handling technology. It is a single and compact unit responding to the different requirements. High quality is built into every component, ensuring not only energy efficiency but also exceptional versatility and reliability. This contributes to extending the life cycle of the unit whilst reducing the maintenance costs. ERACS2-Q is an INTEGRA multi-purpose heat pump for the simultaneous production of chilled and hot water by means of two independent hydronic circuits.

Climaveneta’s solution is thus able to provide clean air quality, the best climate conditions and sanitary hot water, all year round combining high efficiency and low running costs in the winery, hotel, restaurant and all the other locations. The choice of producing sanitary hot water through heat pumps lets the system be fully integrated with renewable sources, such us mills and photovoltaic panels.

The engineer Mario Zito, Director at MED, Climaveneta distributor in Uruguay says: “It has been a pleasure for us to take part in such a challenging project, almost unmatched in our Country. Everybody is fully satisfied with the final results both in terms of humidity and temperature control for the wine production and in terms of sustainability and efficiency for the whole development energy performance.”

The finals of the European Football Championships in France, where 24 teams will compete in 10 stages to get to the grand finale on July 10th, start today. There will also be a piece of Climaveneta at Euro2016 as there are several units installed in 3 different stadiums: Atlantique in Bordeaux, Allianz Riviera in Nice and the historic Parc des Princes in Paris.

The Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux is a new generation multifunctional stadium dedicated to sports and culture, with an adaptable capacity of 42,000 seats where comfort is granted by two Climaveneta units, able to combine the best internal temperature and humidity level, reducing the energy consumption and therefore the operating costs. One NECS-N/CA 2416 reversible heat pump and one NECS-Q/CA 1816 multi-use unit grant maximum comfort all year round with the highest energy efficiency in this futuristic and emblematic stadium.

The Allianz Riviera in Nice was inaugurated in 2013 and since then it has hosted the home matches of the Nice team. With a capacity of 35,000 seats, it also houses the Museum of Sport, air-conditioned by a Climaveneta multi-purpose heat pump NECS-CQ / B / S 0704.

On the other hand the stadium in Paris, the Parc des Princes, was opened in 1972 but with such a modern design that it still looks contemporary, even today. The structure, which can accommodate 48,500 people, has undergone recent renovations, including the installation of 2 Climaveneta multi-purpose heat pumps ERACS2-Q / SL-CA in 2622 for the air conditioning of enclosed spaces both in summer and winter and for the sanitary hot water production, for a total cooling capacity of 1194 kW and heating capacity of 1214 kW.

Climaveneta units for the new Decathlon Logistics Hub in Brandizzo, undergoing LEED certification.

Bassano del Grappa, May 2016 - Decathlon is the world leader in the creation, production and distribution of sports equipment. The first store was opened in 1976 in France from the idea to bring all sports together under one roof at the best possible price. Today the company has more than 50,000 employees and more than 550 stores all over the world.

The company has a strong focus on sustainability and environmental respect that materializes in the development of new stores that blend into their surroundings to harmonize nature with the pleasure of sports. In line with company values, Decathlon is now designing all new buildings in a sustainable way, including the new logistics hub, inaugurated at the end of April and currently undergoing LEED certification.

The new logistics hub located in Brandizzo, serves 25 stores and guarantees clients that products are delivered in the shortest possible time, with the lowest amount of CO2 emissions. This warehouse has a gross surface area of roughly 23,000 m2, and is divided into two units; one unit is mainly dedicated to picking, while the other one only stocks bulky material. The building also hosts a Click&Collect point for shop online goods collection and a regional laboratory to repair damaged Decathlon products.
Furthermore a new layout has been studied here and will be used in all new Decathlon warehouses worldwide. Two automated mezzanine floors have been inserted, allowing the process to be quicker, more sustainable and more profitable.

Because the building is undergoing LEED certification, the designers have had a strong focus on sustainability since the preliminary design stages, making green choices both in terms of a passive structure through the use of recyclable materials, as well as in terms of mechanical plants.

The lighting is based on high energy saving LED lights, managed by a BMS that allows empty areas to stay dark, lighting only the busy areas. On the roof they installed high performance photovoltaic panels, able to produce up to 350kW and be self-sufficient from an electric point of view in summer periods.
Considering the other LEED prerequisites they have designed rainwater collection for irrigation, a special sanitary system to save drinkable water, and above all energy recovery for extra cooling and heating needs thanks to the thermodynamic recovery of the roof-top units. As a matter of fact great attention has been paid to the comfort of the 150 employers of the logistics hub, air conditioned all year round.

Roberto Valentini, Project Manager at Decathlon Italia says: “Decathlon believes a healthy and safe environment helps workers to feel more comfortable and to better do their job. In Brandizzo we have thus decided to air condition the whole building, including the warehouse, granting a high level of comfort for all the employees.”

FOCUS ON HVAC

The HVAC system of the new logistics hub is based on 15 WSM high efficiency reversible air cooled roof-top units by Climaveneta. 10 of them are dedicated to the open spaces, 4 to the automated mezzanine floors and the last one to the laboratories, for a total air flow of about 340,000 m3/h. In further detail, they have installed 7 WSM/CE 402 with free-cooling and 8 WSM/ HR with thermodynamic heat recovery to maximize the energy efficiency under all weather conditions.
High COP index, higher than 5, allows not only for respecting the LEED certification prerequisites, but also for the system to outperform the output required by the regional legislation at -7°C and +33°C

In the warehouse air distribution is managed through thermostatic nozzles, while in the laboratories they have installed a high induction microdot channel, granting maximum comfort everywhere.
As a matter of fact even though the building is 14 metres high and the channels have been installed at 13.70 metres, it is possible to reach even the most remote zones in the facility.

Alessandro Bergui, M&E designer at Techbau SpA says: “Nowadays buildings are the first cause of pollution and CO2 production in world. We drive Euro6 and Euro7 cars, while we live in buildings not so focused on energy savings. For our and our children’s future it is essential to start thinking about buildings as we already do for automobiles, that is to say certifying energy performances.” And he continues:” Following this philosophy, at new Decathlon logistics hub we’ve tried to take the maximum advantage of renewable energies, since they don’t come from fossil fuels and don’t cause any CO2 emissions, by installing photovoltaic panels and selecting high efficiency HVAC units with air source”.

Conceived as a mixed-use lifestyle development, Tigné Point is currently best known for its luxurious apartments, that continue to attract buyers from different corners of the globe.

The development also offers leisure activities, retail outlets, bars, cafés and restaurants as well as the full-fledged football pitch and training complex of the local Sliema Wanderers’ football team. One of the most salient aspects of this project is the fact that all traffic has been routed underground, providing a 30 acre car-free zone at ground level.

The HVAC system at Tigné Point is a prime example of innovative technology providing economic solutions for corporate and residential applications alike. The environmentally-sound and energy-efficient climate control system supplies heating and cooling to 25,000 square metres of retail space and some 200 homes. It will also cater to 14,000 square metres of office and commercial space that is currently under construction at Tigné Point.

The system is based on 4 FOCS W/H 3602, 1 FOCS2 W/H/CA-E 3602 with a HWT kit, Climaveneta’s water to water high efficiency heat pump, with hydraulic side reversibility and 2 EW-HT1204/S, Climaveneta’s water to water heat pumps, heating only with very high temperature water production.

With an investment of 85 million US dollars, the project includes a sustainable winery spanning 19,050 square meters housing the production of fine wines, a restaurant, a luxury hotel and an exclusive wine club. So it is not by chance if La Bodega Garzón is at #21 among the 52 places in the world to be visited in 2016, according to the New York Times.

The 2014/2015 grape collection allowed Bodega Garzón to become the first sustainable winery built outside the United States, following the requirements of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

The project is also undergoing the LEED certification, achieving energy savings of about 40%, compared to other similar facilities, and producing 40% of its energy needs through mills and photovoltaic panels.
The Bodega Garzón plant plays a fundamental role. Stable humidity and temperature levels, together with clean air quality are directly connected to the quality of the wine.
The HVAC system is thus based on high efficiency Climaveneta units: 6 WIZARD air handling units working together with 2 multiuse ERACS2-Q for the production of hot and cold water.

Super efficient lungs based on 132 Climaveneta air handling units for the “Blessed Teresa of Calcutta” Hospital in Padua.

Bassano del Grappa January 2016: The complex of new South Padua United Hospitals is located in the middle of a large green area in Monselice and has a horizontal surface with three factory units for a total of 75,000 m2 of gross floor space. The buildings are no higher than three floors plus two technical levels. The profile of the undulating roofing recalls the landscape of the surrounding hills and allows the complex to fit harmoniously into the context in which it stands.

The topic of energy efficiency was vital from the beginning, in the first stages of the hospital design. The energy analysis that was carried out led to the choice of a tri-generation system based on 2 802 kWe engines and a 1900 kWf absorber. The advantages of a tri-generation system are the reduction of energy consumption and related emissions, the tax exemption for the purchase of natural gas and obtaining Energy Efficiency Certificates (EEC) with their consequent economic value.

To further increase the energy efficiency of the hospital, the tri-generation system has been supported by a geothermal field, consisting of 1,300 closed loop vertical probes. The probes are linked to 3 NECS-WN / B Climaveneta heat pumps, placed in plant rooms and directly connected to the collectors of secondary distribution. The geothermal field in winter produces hot water at 45 ° C (total capacity of 450 kW; COP 4.5), while in summer it produces chilled water at 7 ° C (500 kW EER 5.0).

Gemmo Spa, the company in charge of the M&E systems of the hospital, has chosen Climaveneta as supplier of the AHU. As a matter of fact even the air treatment system has been chosen for its high efficiency and is based on 132 WIZARD air handling units by Climaveneta for a total air flow of more than 900,000 m³ / h. All the components of the WIZARD units have been designed and carefully selected to meet the most stringent requirements of cleanliness and hygiene, typically required by hospitals, while ensuring maximum comfort and low noise levels in the rooms.

Cristiano Dal Seno, AHU Development Manager at Climaveneta says “The AHU Climaveneta produces are fully equipped with all the components required to always grant an optimal air filtration, humidification and heat recovery, in line with the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta hospital approach to sustainability. Granting the highest level of comfort in every project, in a green way, has been the Climaveneta mission for 45 years”.

At the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta hospital they have also installed 9 additional heat pumps for the active thermodynamic recovery in combination with the static heat recovery. Going in depth the plant designer has selected 8 NECS-WN / B and 1 RECS-W / B 2152 all supplied by Climaveneta for a total thermal capacity of 2.3 MW. This system combines a high quality standard while avoiding any air flow contamination and is able to supply almost constant power, both in heating and cooling mode, even in the case of outside temperature changes.

Moreover, the use of polyurethane prefabricated panel ducts brings significant advantages, including substantial noise reduction and above all a significant reduction in air loss and then of the treated air flow with a meaningful reduction in energy consumption.

Thanks to all these measures and to an integrated design of the building and systems, the total energy request of the hospital is 27% less than another equivalent hospital, compliant with legal standards. It is the result of an extensive experience and of an approach that, from a methodological point of view, could be favourably replicated in many situations.

Francesco Ortolani, General Manager of Gemmo SpA says :”We are proud of the great job we did at the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta hospital where, even thanks to the cooperation with partners such as Climaveneta, we have been able to create M&E systems able to combine reliability, innovation and energy efficiency”.

At the new United Hospitals in South Padua great importance has been given to earthquake safety. Hospitals are in fact called to play a very important relief role for the population in the case of disasters, as they must be able to ensure the first emergency medical operations. This implies paying special attention not only to the building’s structure but also to its plants that must be able to handle emergencies.

Even Climaveneta consequently verified the earthquake resistance of its units by installing special seismic dampers to the heat pumps, able to absorb the vibrations in the case of an earthquake and by subjecting the AHU to a careful structural analysis.

Reliability, energy efficiency and low noise emissions are the main factors that have always identified Climaveneta units and that have been essential in the construction of a modern hospital like the “Blessed Teresa of Calcutta” in Padua.

Bassano del Grappa, December 2015: Driven by current regulatory changes pushed by worldwide institutions regarding both gas emissions and efficiency targets, Climaveneta has unveiled TECS2 HFO, the company’s latest range of chillers with magnetic levitation compressors embracing an innovative green efficiency approach to cooling.

Specially conceived to provide customers with superior product efficiency whilst complying with the strictest green building targets required by building owners, the new Turbocor compressors’ range utilises the 4th generation HFO refrigerant with low GWP value. An attractive combination that delivers great advantages not only in terms of environmental acceptability but also performance level.

HFOs hydro-fluoro olefins are today considered the best alternative to HFC blends. Similar in thermodynamic properties to HFCs, HFOs’ molecules rapidly disintegrate into the atmosphere within a few days, resulting in a very low Global Warming Potential (GWP). For TECS2 HFO, Climaveneta has selected the Solstice ze (1234ze), which delivers GWP around 7 compared to 1430 GWP value for the R134a refrigerant, together with low toxicity and low-flammability indexes.

The HFO 1234ze refrigerant has been integrated with TECS2, the proven and experienced Climaveneta’s range of oil free chillers featuring magnetic-bearing technology and high quality control logics. A solution that, besides the reduction in weight and dimensions compared to traditional chillers, permits the compressor to operate completely without oil, allowing a significant improvement of its performance through the heat exchange surfaces.

The results of this innovative GREEN EFFICIENCY union are impressive: the HFO specific magnetic levitation compressor, thanks to special technical choices implemented during its design phase, not only ensures better performance than traditional compressors, but it also adds a further 3% product efficiency if compared to the same capacity compressor working with R134a refrigerant.

Brilliantly engineered in all its parts, the new TECS2 HFO also employs premium heat exchangers featuring larger heat exchange surfaces designed to maximise the cooling capacity and optimise the operation of the compressors. An innovative design that ensures reduced pressure drops and complete refrigerant evaporation, thus resulting in a further increase in the high efficiency levels achieved by the units.

TECS2 HFO is available both in air or water cooled versions from 339 to 1364 kW. Water source units can be selected also in heat pump configuration (/H function) resulting in increased sustainability whenever the heat recovery option is convenient. A comprehensive range always accompanied by Climaveneta’s tailor-made approach aimed at satisfying all kinds of design requirements of both commercial and industrial applications.

Climaveneta air conditioning units installed in 2 out of the 3 data centers currently awarded Tier IV Certification of Constructed Facility in Italy.

Bassano del Grappa, November 2015: Data centers are dependent upon the successful and integrated operation of electrical, mechanical, and building systems. As a matter of fact, the most critical decision-making perspective owners and designers must consider is what effect the decision has on the life-cycle-integrated operation of the IT environment in the computer room.
Keeping that in mind, the Uptime Institute, an unbiased advisory organization focused on improving the performance, efficiency, and reliability of businesses’ critical infrastructure, created the standard Tier Classification System. It effectively evaluates data center infrastructure in terms of a business’ requirements for system availability by providing the data center industry with a consistent method of comparing typically unique, customized facilities based on expected site infrastructure performance.

Nowadays the most advanced data centers in terms of reliability are surely the Tier IV certified ones. That is to say these facilities have multiple, independent, physically isolated systems that provide redundant capacity components and multiple, independent, diverse, active distribution paths simultaneously serving the critical environment, being fully Fault Tolerant Site Infrastructures.

At present in Italy there are only 3 certified constructed Tier IV data centers and Climaveneta is the supplier of the cooling system of 2 of them: Fastweb and Unipol infrastructures.

FOCUS ON COOLING SYSTEM

Fastweb, an Italian telecommunications operator 100% owned by Swisscom, decided to build a new data center offering the highest level of security possible to its clients. This goal led to the decision to achieve Italy’s first Tier IV Certification of Constructed Facilities (TCCF) with quality construction and energy efficiency also in mind.
The choice of cooling equipment was made considering the real operational parameters of the system (temperatures, loads, etc.) and the specific design setting logic. Four TECS2 0652 SL-CA-E high-efficiency Climaveneta chillers provide N+N cooling to the facility.
The chillers are cutting edge in terms of energy efficiency, internal redundancy, reliability, occupancy and noise; they are equipped with oil-free magnetic levitation compressors and are specified to be super silent. ClimaPRO, a dedicated control system by Climaveneta ensured that the chillers operate as efficiently as possible, balancing their output ac- cording to the load present. The same system also identifies maintenance actions—in addition to routine maintenance operations—which could improve efficiency.

Ferdinando Ciardullo, the M&E consultant, talking about the cooling system of the certified data center says: ”This site has peculiar architecture based on a dual active branch, which translates into dual cooling plants, dual pumping stations, dual cooled water supply circuits, allowing us to always ensure two essential factors: the possibility of servicing any equipment or any part of a circuit any time, without Data Center downtimes”

On the other side Unipol is the second insurance group on the Italian market and the first in Non-Life business, classified among the top ten in Europe. To optimise the Group organization they have planned to gather all the IT services in one data center located in Bologna, on Pilastro Street.
The new facility is an example of efficiency, not only in terms of energy consumption but also of reduced space, cooling and CO2 emissions.
At Unipol Data Center Pilastro Climaveneta supplied 4 TECS2/XL-CA/S 0512 high efficiency chillers that easily adapt themselves to different thermal load conditions thanks to their precise thermoregulation together with the use of inverter technology. The compressor is radically innovative: magnetic bearings and digital rotor speed control allow it to guarantee energy efficiency at partial loads, which represents more than 75% of a datacenter’s working time.

Paolo Bussolotto, National Sales director at Climaveneta says “It has been a pleasure to work with such a big group like Unipol and a challenge to find the best way to satisfy their request in terms of cooling and efficiency.” He follows: “The new data center in Pilastro Street is the last of an important sequence of IT cooling projects Climaveneta achieved all over the World and demonstrates the company reliability in terms of HVAC and HPAC solutions.”

Even Telecom Italia Acilia data center in Rome and Poste Italiane Torino data center, currently undergoing the Tier IV Certification of the Design Documents section, will be equipped with Climaveneta units. This is further proof that Climaveneta’s range presents itself as the ideal solution to match the most demanding requirements of Tier IV Datacenter designers and managers in terms of reliability, efficiency, flexibility and the lowest cost of ownership.

Elesa, leading company in the design of standard components for the mechanical industry, is a point of reference for the production and distribution of handles. The catalogue offers a complete range of handles. All Elesa components, including handles, ensure high performance even in applications requiring greater reliability.

Monza, 5th Novembre 2015 — Elesa, leading manufacturer of standard components for the mechanical industry, offers its customers a wide range of handles which find applications in various fields. Versatility, variety and product customization are only part of the winning features.

Elesa handles are divided into three main product families: bridge handles, flush pull handles and tubular handles. One of the greatest strengths of the line consists of the offer of components of various shapes, sizes and production materials such as technopolymer, Duroplast, aluminum, stainless steel or chrome steel, with different surface finishes and types of assembly.

Thanks to this wide variety it is impossible not to find the handle that suits your needs. Elesa, as for all its components, pays great attention to the design stage: all handles are studied in detail, so that they are easy to install, use and maintain.

Elesa does not only aim to provide a functional product, but also pays great attention to the design. In particular, regarding the handles, ergonomics and lines come together in a unique combination, to give life to the utmost ease of use with a firm grip. The combination of design and ergonomic care is an aspect that does not go unnoticed. Elesa, in this regard, has received several awards from the most prestigious juries of industrial design. Surely this aspect makes these components even more "special" and appreciated.

It is possible to ask, for some products, customized versions according to specific needs. The different standard solutions, available in the catalogue, can be obtained in different colours or customized with wording or logos tampoprinted or laser engraved. To see the wide range of handles, go to the website and browse the catalogue to choose the model that best suits your needs.

Among the latest innovations presented by the company, is the EBR-PN handle with pneumatic drive. It is made of polyamide based technopolymer (PA) glass-fiber reinforced. This component is part of the bridge handles family. In particular, EBR-PN handle is characterized by the original design by Elesa, resulting from the EBP award-winning bridge handle, and is available in grey-black.

The handle is equipped with a button, which is made of technopolymer, in Brilliant Blue. The boss caps are already installed, but removable with a screwdriver, and they are also made of technopolymer. EBR-PN handle is resistant to solvents, oils, greases and other chemical agents, to guarantee application even when in contact with these substances.

MFH handles are also a new series in the Elesa Catalogue. These mini handles, made of technopolymer in black, grey, red, orange, white - similar to RAL 9002 - technopolymer or chrome plated, are ideal for applications that require the use of handles with small dimensions, but ensuring, at the same time, ease of use and resistance.

Another segment of the range which the company is concentrating on is flush pull handles. Several models, sizes, production materials and surface finishes allow a perfect integration of these handles on machines and equipment for which they are intended.

These include the MPR folding handle with recessed tray and return spring, awarded last February by the IF jury for Hanover Industrial Design. Made of black technopolymer with matte finish, it ensures the handle's return to the rest position by two springs in AISI 302 stainless steel, giving the operator the ability to work in a safe environment, free from any protrusions that might be a danger element.

Among Elesa's best sellers for their shape and size availability are the arch handles. In particular, this family is characterized by the great refinement in production materials and high care of surface finish. Aluminum handles with a natural finish, anodized or with epoxy coating. Stainless steel or chrome steel completes the selection of materials. The range also offers several sections (oval or flat) always in aluminum or steel.

In addition, on www.elesa.com it is possible to download PDF files with all data sheets about the mentioned handles, and discover other innovations in the catalogue or view all the handles for which Elesa is well known on the market for many years. In this way, all users interested in the company's products will find important information about the product and the available executions.

The reliability of Elesa components for the engineering industry is known. The company exports its products worldwide. Products that are prized for their versatility and high performance. Finally, Elesa remains a point of reference for all those who want to buy handles processed with high quality materials, durable, and even adaptable to the most severe conditions of use.

More than 50 Climaveneta smart heat pumps installed in the whole Porta Nuova district, including those of the Unicredit Pavilion.

The Unicredit Pavilion opened a few months ago, standing in the heart of the new Porta Nuova district in Milan; the symbol of the Banking Group’s participation at Expo 2015.

The Italian architect Michele De Lucchi was chosen to design this meeting space capable of hosting cultural events, conferences, art exhibitions and music concerts. The multi-purpose structure can accommodate up to 700 people at any one time and is divided into smaller spaces, with modular components that promote dialogue, participation and experimentation.

UniCredit CEO Federico Ghizzoni stated that they wanted a building to reflect the European identity of the brand, but still be representative of Italian architecture. “This facility meets our commitment to build deeper relationships with the communities where we operate and contribute to their economic development in a sustainable manner.”
The customer’s strong focus on sustainability is highlighted by the building undergoing certification LEED GOLD and by the state-of-the-art technology applied in the project.

FOCUS ON HVAC

The comfort in the Pavilion is provided all year round by 2 Climaveneta ERACS2-WQ 1502 smart heat pumps, connected to the water ring that serves the whole Porta Nuova district.
The air conditioning system of the whole district is as simple as it is innovative, the first and only of its kind in Italy and absolutely cutting edge in Europe.
The plant’s foundation is surrounded by groundwater, very present in fairly high levels in the interested area, setting up a water ring that serves the whole Porta Nuova district. From this piping system, based on 12 pumping wells, each building can have groundwater in its own plant room in order to have their own production of cold and hot water.

“Thanks to the groundwater it is possible to create cooling and heating energy by exploiting the highest energy efficiency, with no CO2 emissions on site and zero noise emissions, as the plants are all placed in closed spaces in the basements, or in plant rooms inside the buildings” said Francesca Martinoli, associated engineer at Ariatta Ingegneria dei Sistemi, in charge of the HVAC design at Porta Nuova.

The latest building connected to the groundwater ring is the new Unicredit Pavilion. From the engineering point of view this building was a real challenge because of its completely unconventional shape with inconsistent volumes, a wooden and concrete structure and a transparent glass side. The architect Michele De Lucchi didn’t want the air conditioning units to be seen, and for this reason the HVAC designers had to proceed with a completely different approach for this project, choosing a BIM integrated design. So they have created a BIM integrated design team, with both architects and structural engineers, to work on a single 3D model in which they created the architectural, the structural and the HVAC models, adding the different systems in a coordinated and simultaneous way.

The keyword in the air conditioning design was flexibility. Due to the multi-functions of this building, the designers decided to create different types of systems in the different sections of the building.

On the ground floor, seeing as the auditorium can be used for small or large events accommodating up to 700 people, they decided to build a completely modular air-air system with an AHU installed in the technical and mechanical floor, connected to ceiling air ducts in the basement. Then from the basement ceiling there is a network of air ducts serving various air plenum placed under the floor, thus making the plant almost invisible apart for some grids on the floor. Furthermore there are some separation sets which divide the air flow on the basis of the different configurations of the space making it always possible to have different temperatures and humidity conditions in every room. To maximize the energy efficiency of the air conditioning system, making it really adaptable to the real presence of people, they placed some CO2 probes directly in the auditorium.

On the first floor there is a kindergarten, with totally different needs and loads. To maximize the children’s comfort, the best option was to design a system with radiant floor panels and primary air flow, fully integrated with the architecture of the building.

Finally, on the third floor dedicated to the lounge, the client wanted to have some free space, and for this reason they designed a floor plant again with some fan coils placed under the level and some primary air ducts on the ceiling but perfectly integrated into the wooden ribs to combine comfort, flexibility and low aesthetic impact.

The whole project was a big challenge in terms of engineering and technology: "Most of the components of the Pavilion required a remarkable job in designing and engineering, making the whole construction process quite difficult" explained Serena Massimi, Head of UniCredit Pavilion Development and Management.
But the final effect is brilliant in terms of sustainability and architecture and the Unicredit Pavilion now has the ambition to become the permanent pavilion of a Milan that changes, and that Climaveneta with its efficient solutions is helping to change.

Monza (Italy), September 30th 2015 — Elesa handwheels are made of different materials, including technopolymer or phenolic-based Duroplast, aluminium or stainless steel, which allow different uses and applications in the machine industry. The top of the range is represented by VRTP. andVDS. handwheels.

VRTP. spoked handwheel is available in 3 executions: with revolving handle, with revolving "soft touch" handle in technopolymer coated with thermoplastic elastomer and with fold-away handle. The product is made of polypropylene based technopolymer. The self-adhesive front plate is made of anodized aluminium. For some executions it is available also with technopolymer boss cap in Ergostyle colours.

VDS. solid handwheel is another best seller of this group. It is available with revolving handle, "soft touch" revolving handle, fold-away handle and with safety fold-away handle. The handwheel body is made of polypropylene based (PP) technopolymer; the boss cap in acetal resin based technopolymer, light-grey colour and push-fit assembly is removable by pressing on the outer edge or with a screwdriver (original design Elesa). The boss cap, for some executions, is available in the Ergostyle colours, matte finish.

Elesa is more and more attentive to the needs and requests of special sectors such as the pharmaceutical, the medical and the food, which require by law the use of corrosion resistant materials (special stainless steel and certified plastics) and ergonomic and compact shapes that guarantee easy cleaning. Elesa catalogue presents a wide range of standard mechanical components in line with these requirements.

The most significant example is the VRTP-P-SST spoked handwheel. The body of the handwheel and handle are made of technopolymer certified in compliance with FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). They are resistant to solvents, oils, greases and other chemical agents. The metal central bushing and the other metal components of the handle are made of AISI 304 stainless steel, which ensures high corrosion resistance. The solid rim of the handwheel and the absence of rear recesses avoid the deposit of unhealthy residues or dust, ensuring easy cleaning without disassembling from the machine.

Another example is the VDN.FP solid handwheel, available with revolving handle VDN.FP+I, with fold-away handle VDN.FP+IR and with automatic fold-away safety handle "Fold-o-matic"® type VDN.FP+IRS. The body of the handwheel is made of phenolic based Duroplast, while the ring, Elesa original design, is made of anodised aluminium. The ergonomic shape of the rim with internal rear scallops makes the grip and the manoeuvre of the handwheel easier.

As we have seen, Elesa handwheels can be fitted to various types of industrial machinery. Moreover, technopolymer has mechanical properties such as to allow interchangeability with the corresponding metal products, offering the additional advantages of the corrosion resistance and the lightness typical of plastic materials.

All these features are necessary to ensure reliable performance even in difficult operating conditions. To all the functionality and efficiency of Elesa products is added a nice and ergonomic design, which is undoubtedly an added value.

Elesa, with a range of products unique on the market, has become a point of reference not only in Italy but also abroad.
The exhibition has given to many producers from many countries the opportunity to let professionals of the field and the general public from Ticino and northern Italy discover their products, their lands and traditions.
During the weekend, the exhibition was crowded mainly by families and aficionados, whereas on Monday the wine&food hall of excellences was visited by the professionals of restaurant industry, bars, and the students of the Technical Trades School where they are learning how to become chefs, maîtres, barmen and managers.
The Congress Palace of Lugano has been divided into thematic areas: wine, an area dedicated to the the best products of the wine field; food, an area dedicated to the products such as pasta, oil, cheese, sweets; beer, the area that hosted Italian and European breweries to represent the excellences of handmade beer; RistoExpoGusto, a restaurant area where the Chefs presented the fine cuisine, sold out in all the sessions.
The cooking shows by the Chefs leaded by Aimo Moroni (Chef Ambassador of the event) and Corrado Parisi (Chef testimonial of the event) achieved resounding success. More than twenty great Chefs have been alternating and working side by side to delight the palates of the enthusiasts and the curious ones, making fine cuisine available for everybody.

This first edition of ExpoGusto is the starting point for a far wider path that will be full of surprises since next year, the year of Expo 2015. The organizers are already working on a range of events and activities that will develop along all the 2015 in different cities, among which there is Milan, location of Expo 2015, until the ExpoGusto second edition, that will be hosted in Lugano once again.

“Right and proper the gratitude to all that have contributed in making these three days of events absolutely special; first among everyone all the people that allowed us to raise funds for the G4 Foundation, the Association” said Giacomo Acciai, one of ExpoGusto organizers “The city of Lugano and the Ticino responded well, both as audience and Institutions; for the 2015 edition we would like a wider involvement of associations and Institutions so that the event might become a steady appointment for the city, that will contribute in promoting and valuing products and territories of excellence”.
