The vibrant Triangle Building in Camden will be the venue for what should be one of the most important dates on any GP’s Calendar. The “7 Emergencies A GP Should Never Miss” event will take place on 22nd June, between 6.30pm and 9.30pm and offers a great opportunity for GPs to learn more about medical emergencies. The venue overlooks the wonderful Camden lock, and the event will discuss ophthalmic, cardiac and endocrine emergencies that GPs are routinely advised to look out for. Welcome drinks & tapas will be served as refreshments, and attending GPs also have the opportunity to partake in a networking event towards the end of the evening.

The event is courtesy of several leading medical companies including Optegra Eye Health Care, Doctify, My Locum Manager and The Independent Doctors Federation (IDF). The schedule of topics and speakers are as follows:

6.30 — 7.00pm : Welcome drinks
7.00 — 7.20pm : Ophthalmic emergencies presented by Mr Alex Shortt.
7.20 — 7.40pm : Cardiac emergencies presented by Dr Pantazis.
7.40 — 8.00pm : Endocrine emergencies presented by Dr Mark Vanderpump
8.00 — 9.30pm : Tapas & networking

Aside from hearing from speakers at the very highest level within their profession, attending GPs also have the opportunity to earn 1.5 CPD points in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Mr Alex Shortt, speaking on ophthalmic emergencies is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Optegra Eye Hospital Central London & Moorfields, with unrivalled knowledge & experience within the fields of cornea, cataract and refractive surgery.

Dr Antonis Pantazis is a Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust. He is also the Trust’s clinical lead for cardiomyopathy. Dr Pantazis is an invited speaker at many national and international meetings.

Dr Mark Vanderpump is a Consultant Endocrinologist with a specialist focus in thyroid disease. He is President of the British Thyroid Association. As a leading expert in his field he is often invited to talk on national television about endocrinology and diabetes.
