A Day at Florida’s Sunshine City

08 Mar

Florida: With the sun shining on it almost all days of the year, it comes as no surprise that St. Petersburg in Florida has earned the nickname, “Florida’s Sunshine City”. Of course, this has also led to the city of St. Petersburg becoming one of the most sought after places to have a vacation in.

The city of St. Petersburg sits right within the Pinellas County. Currently, it boasts of a population of around 245,000 residents making it one of the most populous cities in Florida. In terms of size, it is also considered as the second largest one within the Tampa Bay area. Because of this, it comes as no surprise that St. Petersburg is home to a number of tourist attractions.

Frequent visitors as well as local residents of St. Petersburg list as popular attractions such places and landmarks as the Great Explorations, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Holocaust Museum, and the Salvador Dali Museum. At one point, tourists were able to flock to the St. Petersburg Pier in order to view the Bounty. The area, however, has since been closed to the public. You can, however, drop by also such sites as the 600 Block Arts District as well as the Haslam’s Bookstore.

Of course, if you would like to enjoy all of this, you need to make sure that you book yourself in any of the hotels close to Tampa Airport. One such hotel in Saint Petersburg FL that you might want to consider is the Comfort Inn and Suites located at Tropicana Field.
