Ashwagandha Believed to be Helpful in Boosting Muscle Size and Strength

The subjects were tested for muscle strength before and after the study with the use of bench press and leg extension workouts. Muscle size, muscle recovery, and fat composition were also measured.

The researchers tested the blood levels of creatine kinase to measure the muscle recovery levels. This is believed to be a marker for muscle injury, which may happen after strenuous workouts.

It was found that the participants who took ashwagandha experienced significant improvements in strength after eight weeks. It is worth noting that the group treated with ashwagandha bench-pressed 46 kilos on average. The placebo group, on the other hand, bench-pressed 25 kilos.

There was also a dramatic increase in muscle size in the ashwagandha group compared to the placebo. This ancient herb is believed to be helpful in building muscle strength and reducing damage to muscle fibers.

The researchers further revealed that the ashwagandha group had a significant reduction in muscle damage, which resulted from their workouts.
