In the past week it has been announced that Centrica Plc, Dong Energy and Siemens AG completed a £425million funding agreement with 10 banks for a U.K. offshore wind farm.

In 1 week Peter Weston, Global Head of Power and Investment, Siemens Wind Power and Torsten Lodberg Smed, Senior Vice President, Head of Partnerships Renewables, DONG Energy will be joining leading players from the wind and finance industries at the 3rd annual Global Wind Power Finance and Investment congress in London to discuss the future of financing in offshore wind projects.

 

In a statement last week acting deputy chief executive officer at Dong Energy’s wind power division, Morten Hultberg Buchgreitz said “We see a well-functioning and deep project financing market for offshore wind projects as one of the important funding sources for the development of the sector“ (Bloomberg 7 June 2012)
