Reality star Lauren Conrad’s engagement ring has been in the limelight recently, as several renowned engagement ring designers have come on record to comment on the showy jewel.

One such name was celebrity jewellery designer Jennifer Fisher, who has conceived pieces for Rihanna and Katie Holmes. Fisher had nothing but praise for the ring, calling it ‘quintessential timeless perfection’ and noting that the setting chosen by Conrad’s fiancé, William Tell, was sure to withstand the test of time. The designer also considered the choice of a gold band original, at a time when platinum bands are the norm.

Another notable voice within the trade to have commented on Ms. Conrad’s engagement ring was Zhaven Ghanimian, marketing director for Simon G. Jewellery. According to Ghanimian, Conrad’s ring, which features a 14k gold band topped by a 4-prong, 2-carat round diamond and was reportedly designed by Sydney Evans, known for working with Julianne Hough and the Kardashians, could be worth anywhere from $20.000 to $40.000 (£12.500 to £25.000.)

Lauren Conrad first made a name for herself on MTV reality show ‘The Hills’. After that show was cancelled, her boyfriend of two years, law student William Tell, stepped forward with the proposal, which the celebrity duly accepted. A snapshot of her engagement ring, and the matching band on her middle finger (engraved with the word ‘love’) reportedly sent the television star’s fans into a frenzy with many asking the celebrity where they could purchase similar items.

Since the cancellation of the show that made her famous, in 2010, Conrad has been making a name for herself as a designer, which explains her fiancé’s perceived need for a trend-setting ring such as the one he eventually presented the former star with. The move evidently paid off, as evidenced by the praise that engagement ring designers have been heaping on it since.
