A software developer and food lover Asghar Shah has launched a crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter in support of his new age food networking website Khabay that enables one to order dishes from local chefs, hire chefs for parties and offering leftover food from parties avoiding food wastage - just in a few clicks.

Toronto, Canada, August 10th 2016 : Toronto based senior software developer-cum-foodie Asghar Shah has launched a crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter seeking support for his futuristic food networking website Khabay. Connecting food enthusiasts to culinary connoisseurs, the platform is aimed to show a new way to order food locally within a few clicks, including both homemade meals and chef dishes- just like we order cabs in a few taps while on the go.

The campaign is geared to raise 55,000 CAD by September 13.

“The busy life today hardly spares us the time to whip up delicious, healthy meals after a long day at work. Yes, there are fast-food & take-away options but don’t we all know that these pro-visions are not exactly aligned to healthier diets & lifestyles? So here comes in Khabay, a new-age solution that assures meals on demand literally just at your fingertips. It will enable you to order a dish from your local chefs (and restaurants in future) whether you are too tired to cook or have guests at your home. It also allows you to hire chefs for party and offer leftovers untouched at your party to those who need. But such a futuristic project demands solid financial backup and hence the crowdfunding campaign. Your support would be much appreciated”, stated Asghar, while announcing about the Kickstarter campaign.

Initially, the Khabay team is planning to cover the major metropolitan areas of the US & Canada.
The funds gathered from the crowdfunding campaign will be utilized to design the Khabay web-site as per latest cutting edge standards by a senior front end developer pro. The campaign’s sup-port would also help to make the site mobile friendly and for setting up platform hardware.

“A passionate cook myself, it hit me once while I was preparing a meal that when there is the facility of calling a car on the go then why can’t we order food the same way. My programming background further helped me to come up with a tech platform needed to channelize the idea and Khabay was born.”

While ordering a dish through Khabay, the users can take a comparative survey on the listed chefs’ profile & dish details. The site also allows users to choose food as per their specific pre-ferred cuisines such as Italian or Chinese etc.

Speaking further, Asghar stressed on the latest trend of “shared economy” driving his futuristic project.
“Keeping alive the buzzing spirit of ‘what’s mine is yours, for a fee’ shared economy, Khabay will allow you to give away the leftover food from your party to those who need, when most of your guests haven’t turned up.”

A good host of perks are waiting for the donators. These include a sumptuous recipe from the chef of the donator’s choice, a lip-smacking dinner arrangement for two at the donator’s place and so on. Donations reaching up to 100 CAD would be rewarded with a 2 hour cooking class privilege by chosen chef and dinner for 2. Further donations reaching up to 500 CAD & 1,000 CAD would mean the exclusive provision of 4 hour cooking class & catering for a party for 50 and  10 hour cooking class & catering for a party for 70, respectively.
