Topographic map provided by Getmapping to make task easier for surveyors and planning professionals

Hampshire, United Kingdom, January 24th, 2011 ““ Getmapping (www.getmapping.com) has just launched a new method for gis professionals to view OS MasterMap. OS MasterMap is a continuously updated topography survey of the British Isles, providing the most detailed topography map that shows more than 400 million types of object, both natural and manmade. OS MasterMap is available in multiple formats, suitable for both high quality hard copy and internet based file usage.

Users may now view the MasterMap through wfs (web feature service) as well as wms (web mapping service) in vector and raster formats respectively. On top of this, OS MasterMap is still available through the web shop in the following formats: for raster, jpeg, tiff and ecw; and for vector, microstation dgn, or autocad dwg or dxf.

OS MasterMap is ideal for professional surveying and planning permissions use. The map allows surveyors and planning professionals to visualise a building or development in the complete context of its environment and its surrounding civic amenities and features. With manmade and civic features as small as post boxes covered by the topographic map, there is no part of a building or development’s environment that can be overlooked.

For powerful mapping solutions and a wide choice of supportable file types, then, OS MasterMap really cannot be beaten. Interested parties can take a look for themselves by logging on to http://www2.getmapping.com/products/ordnance-survey
