(Submit Articles) During Recognition Sundays in our Church I always wondered back then what it is to be in a school where you are taught the Bible everyday. My church mates had unique awards like I think Most in Memory Verses or Best in Bible Verse etc.. its as if they had Sunday School everyday..and for me that would be cool! I have always longed to study in a Christian Academy where the curriculum uses Accelerated Christian Education(ACE) or The School of Tomorrow.

Now our church in Cabantan (Conservative Bible Baptist Church) has a new school in Jugan, Consolacion, Cebu that uses ACE curriculum““ the Wellspring of Wisdom Christian Academy or WOWCA (I like the acronym!) We are praying that our child, baby Yangging, will be able to go to this prestigious school.. I am so excited! Why shouldn’tI? By God’s help ACE provides not only excellent quality of education but instills Godly qualities in children to equip them to face this world of darkness and chaos. I believe in “training up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it“ Proverbs 22:6 that would be SHE for my case 🙂

Christian parents should check this out: sixty traits which include kindness, loyalty and honesty are carefully integrated in the lessons. Pupils are taught character development through Biblical values and concepts. If the communists or Muslims train their people in the very early age, why can’twe do the same? We have the very Word of God, the Living Word- the Bible to teach our kids. Isaiah 28:9-10 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line“¦.

Another plus factor is it is Individualized. Before enrolment, the students are “diagnosed“. They take up some exams to determine their level of learning so they can be properly “treated“ with the right curriculum. The diagnostics will determine if they have learning gaps in basic math, English, social studies, science, and spelling. From there, they are given PACEs that strengthen their identified weaknesses.

What is PACE then? It is Packets of Accelerated Christian Education. Millions were spent for the formation of this kind of curriculum .The conventional textbook was subdivided into “bite-sized, achievable, work texts“ units or packets. You have to finish 12 PACES to move on to another level. The PACES instructs the students to identify their goal for the day, the lessons to be learned, the memory verse and the character trait too. Another ACE distinctive is ““ mastery based academic excellence. Before they can move on to another level, they have to take up a battery of tests to ensure they have mastered everything in the lesson. If the child is a fast learner, he/she can accelerate to another level even before the school year ends..

I have yet to see a regular day in WOWCA but I am intrigued with their individual offices. Each child has an office or workplace. I’ve seen the flags, the checking area (I heard there are times when they have to check their own papers..of course, a lesson on honesty!) computers, the colorful worksheets, stories on ACE and Christi. They also have Bible story time! You should also hear how our kids in church try to speak English..amazing!

My list can go on“¦ there are just so many advantages!

Parents if you are interested about this, do check out this school...a wise investment indeed! But of course, we parents can’tjust leave the great task of educating our kids to the Academy. We ourselves must practice what the children are taught. Well, as of now, I can’tsay much. Yangging is only a-year-old so I know I’m not that an expert in parenting and child rearing. But I’m praying for my child’s future. I can’tforce my faith on my child’s throat. She has to decide the path she must take. I can only whisper a psalm: that the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments (Psalm 78:6-7)
