Orlando, FL — December 21, 2015 — Glucosamine has long been believed to be effective in helping athletes maintain and improve their joint health as well as perform at their best. It is also a popular remedy for individuals who suffer from arthritic conditions. There are other benefits in using this therapeutic ingredient, and this includes ones that are favorable to skin health.

A Japan-based study reveals the efficacy of glucosamine combined with a type of vitamin B3 in toning down age spots. Glucosamine has been used as an ingredient in many skin care products, such as anti-aging creams.
“As of the moment, glucosamine is not just a popular arthritis remedy but it is also used for cosmetic use,” said Divine Bounty spokesperson, Melissa Scott.
A study was conducted in Japan involving 50 female participants who belong to the 25 to 55 age bracket. It was found that the combination of glucosamine and niacinamide, which is a form of vitamin B3, has helped in toning down age spots.

A dermatologist from Harvard University also supervised a study that involved 200 subjects, aged 40 to 60 years old. The participants were divided into two groups and one was made to use a sunscreen and moisturizer that contains glucosamine and niacinamide.

The other half, on the other hand, were made to use the skincare products without the therapeutic ingredients. It was found that the group receiving the treatment experienced a decrease in hyper-melanized spot size.

Another split-face clinical test was also conducted for Proctor & Gamble. It was found that N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG) has helped reduce facial hyperpigmentation.

There are many skincare products available nowadays. These products claim to fight skin imperfections and signs of aging. However, not all of them are guaranteed to work. Unfortunately, there are products that are not only ineffective, but also unsafe to use.

Women who suffer from age spots may consider using products with glucosamine. Glucosamine is a naturally-occurring substance in the body. However, the glucosamine levels tend to reduce as a person ages.

Low glucosamine levels in the body have been associated with a range of undesirable effects. Aging seems to increase one’s risk of conditions such as arthritis and skin care problems. The use of glucosamine is thought to be helpful in reversing the adverse effects of aging.

Glucosamine supplements are widely available in the market today. The use of these supplements has been associated with a range of health benefits. Most of the best glucosamine supplements contain other natural ingredients such as MSM, which is also believed to be highly therapeutic too (http://www.amazon.com/Glucosamine-Sulfate-Supplement-2000mg-serving/dp/B0126ZF0B0/).
