Wichita, KS - Jennifer McDonald, a winemaker and entrepreneur, has officially launched a Kickstarter campaign for Jenny Dawn Cellars LLC, an artisan winery to be located in Wichita Kansas. The Kickstarter campaign aims to garner widespread support and financial backing to finance the cost associated with launching the winery and opening it to the public.

Jenny Dawn Cellars LLC will be an artisan winery located in the heart of downtown Wichita, KS. Under the eye of McDonald, the Company will produce wines made from grapes grown by the best viticulturist in the nation as well as craft specialty fruit wines made from produce locally grown in the Urban Orchard. “My enthusiasm for wine, combined with my appreciation for agriculture, has led me to a bold decision, I want to create and bottle my own wine from my own orchard in the heart of Wichita.” Said project creator Jennifer McDonald. “I envision an orchard in downtown Wichita where, not only fruit for my winery is produced, but where people can gather to learn and celebrate agriculture.”

McDonald, the driving force behind Jenny Dawn Cellars, started making wine back in 2014 with a small batch of Riesling and Pinot Noir. Inspired by her passion for gardening, growing fruits and vegetables as well as wine making, she decided to enroll in the Kansas State University Masters of Agribusiness program to hone her business and leadership skills as well as learn more about the agriculture industry in general.

Currently a specialist in the factors influencing premiums on Kansas wine, McDonald is uniquely positioned to break into the local market with Jenny Dawn Cellars. With a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Company will be able to secure her vision of creating a local gathering place to create, sell and share delicious wine with the world. “[Kickstarter] pledges will be used to cover the costs associated with planting an orchard, purchasing land, clearing and tiling the land, removing dead trees, purchasing fruit trees, fencing, picnic tables and other farm equipment,” says McDonald.

Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects. Everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. ‘Backers’ who support a project on Kickstarter get an inside look at the creative process, and help that project come to life. ‘Backers’ of the Jenny Dawn Cellars Kickstarter campaign will be eligible to receive gifts, including tickets to the orchard grand opening celebration in June 2017, and Jenny Dawn Cellars stemless glasses.

The Kickstarter campaign is officially open until December 4, 2016. For more information about the Kickstarter campaign, visit: http://kck.st/2foXyzp
