2 September, 2013: The Caribbean has long been a favourite spot for romantic holidays and especially honeymoons. Caribbean honeymoons are ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy a romantic break in paradise, and after looking at the brochures, not many people need too much persuading to book a holiday here. Added to this, the increased number of local Caribbean festivals in the UK recently could well inspire even more people to discover the real thing for themselves.

A number of festivals have already taken place across the UK to celebrate the exciting culture of the Caribbean. Some of the biggest have included:

Belfast — This festival was held on August 1st for Emancipation Day, which is the day many nations across the Caribbean celebrate their independence. Countries such as Barbados, St Lucia and Jamaica were all represented, and they used the event to promote their food, culture and history.

Coventry — The festival in Coventry attracted thousands of people in the 23rd year that it has been running, despite the heavy rain.

Manchester — This year’s festival attracted over twenty-five thousand people to Platt Fields Park, a change from the usual Alexandra Park, which is undergoing refurbishment works. This year is also the 30th anniversary since St Kitts and Nevis gained independence, so it was a particularly big year for people from the islands.

Leicester — This festival was one of the largest, with about thirty thousand people attending to get involved in the festivities. London Road was the place to be at the start of the carnival, where elaborate floats got things off to a colourful start.

Many people attending the events may have discovered more about the fascinating mix of cultures in the Caribbean, and this may well have inspired them to consider booking a Caribbean honeymoon or holiday at some point.

After all, seeing the carnivals and enjoying the music, dancing and celebrations is one thing, but nothing is better than a real Caribbean honeymoon where visitors can experience it all for themselves.
