Office coffee supplier 7 Grams Coffee have set their sights on improving the lives of children by donating a percentage of their sales to Save the Children Australia , the country’s largest aid and development agency dedicated to helping children.

In April, the owner and founder of 7 Grams decided to donate 5% of proceeds from online sales of coffee beans to make a lasting change. The donation will be made from sales made between May and December 2017.

“There are too many vulnerable children — including right here in Australia — who do not have access to adequate resources to live a safe and happy life,” he says.

“This donation will work towards providing in-need children with access to clean drinking water, food, healthcare services and education in Australia, and in some of the world’s most extreme conflict zones.”

Save the Children Australia helps children in 123 countries, including in Australia, where they have been running programs for more than 60 years.

The agency runs education and child protection programs for disadvantaged communicates across Australia, as well as settlement programs for newly arrived migrant and refugee children.

As part of their global vision for all children to receive a quality education, they also run an Early Childhood Care and Development program for children aged under five, and assist in improving access to schooling for disadvantaged children — in particular children from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Globally, the agency is focussing their resources on the crises in Syria and South Sudan, as well as child hunger crises in Nigeria, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and Yemen.

When disaster strikes, Save the Children provide life-saving aid to children and their families in the form of food, access to clean water, healthcare, including emergency operations, treatments and vaccinations; provision of temporary shelters, and reuniting children with relatives.

7 Grams, which was established in 2008, provides coffee beans and machines to more than 300 offices around Australia, including Mitsubishi Motors, Dell, the University of Melbourne, ANZ Bank and Toll Logistics.

Their range of easy-to-use coffee machines and bean packages are customisable and can cater to offices of all sizes.

7 Grams customers receive fresh beans each month and have their machines regularly serviced to ensure quality operation.

While 7 Grams’ vision has always been to improve productivity one coffee at a time, it seems they’re well on their way to improving the lives of children across the world as well.
