The Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO) has teamed up with Inghams and Ski Total this winter to launch the Ski Again initiative – a set of 14 great package deals designed to encourage skiers and boarders who’ve missed out on ski or boarding in the last few years to get back on snow.

Maybe you’ve missed out on your skiing or boarding over the last few seasons, especially since the recession hit hard in 2008. Perhaps you’ve been put off by a bad experience on the slopes, or you can’t fact the admin needed to organise a successful trip. The Ski Again campaign aims to meet these objections, with a wide range of affordable ski holidays to suit all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

Launched at the start of the 2014/15 winter season, the packages cover a wide range of Austrian resorts — from traditional village resorts with fantastic English-speaking ski schools, perfect for family ski holidays, to lively resorts with great après-ski, perfect for couples and groups. All the packages include flights, transfers, half-board accommodation, lift-pass and a SkiWorkShop with local instructors.

Very few lapsed skiers realise that modern teaching methods combined with innovations in ski equipment and infrastructure mean that it’s now very easy to get back into winter sports. The SkiWorkShop included in all packages features 16 hours of training with a local instructor, where skiers and snowboarders in small groups will quickly get back to their previous level and beyond. The effects of alpine skiing are far more than just physical and a trip to the mountains provides relaxation and rejuvenation. If guests want a break from the slopes there are plenty of alternative activities to choose from including winter hiking or relaxing in a spa.

Why Now? Why Austria?
According to the Ski Club of GB, 75% of those who have stopped skiing would like to return to the slopes over the next few seasons.

“With the Ski Again campaign we would like to win back some of these skiers and boarders. Our packages will make it easy for British guests to return to the slopes and with Inghams and Ski Total we have found a partner who shares our values,” comments Herwig Kolzer, Region Manager UK, Denmark and Sweden of the Austrian National Tourist Office.
Austria offers some of the best skiable terrain in the Alps, with English speaking instructors and state of the art equipment. It’s an extremely popular winter destination for the British market with a share of 28% of all ski holidays, which includes 2.1m overnight stays a year.

“With authentic resorts, ideal infrastructure, slopes for every level and the international reputation of the ski schools Austria is known as THE classic (re)learn to ski destination,” added Kolzer.

So remember: not skied for a while? Then book a ski holiday to one of 14 top Austrian ski resorts with the Ski Again programme. Packages start at £825 and include flights, transfers, 7 nights accommodation, 6-day lift pass, 6-day ski and boot hire and up to 16 hours of SkiWorkShops. Getting back to the slopes has never been this easy.
