Scientists learned that provocative discography may aggravate chronic back pain. To help minimize or prevent back pain, experts advised the use of Shredded Memory Foam Pillow.

Commonly sought after medical procedure for the back may in fact cause further pain, an award-winning study found.
Performed to more than 70,000 people in US yearly, provocative discography, a medical imaging technique used to capture the anatomical and functional information of spinal discs, is commonly administered to people who might be suffering from chronic back pain. However, a recent study published by The Spine Journal found that provocative discography may be causing further harm to the discs that it is supposed to check.

The researchers, who took ten years to finish the study that won “Best Paper” at the 2015 International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine (ISSLS), discussed that the study proves a long-time suspicion among specialists. He explained that for many years, provocative discography has been suspected to worsen pain and other signs of deteriorating spinal discs. Only after the study was conducted can science truly weigh the implication of the procedure in the health and wellness of their patients.

In the study, it was found that provocative discography accelerates degeneration of the discs, resulting to worsening back pain.

Experts on sleep and posture commented that the study is a great example on how research advances people’s understanding on back pain. Especially today that more and more products are being invented to cater to the special needs of people with chronic back pain.

A good example of an invention that addresses the lumbar pain is the memory foam back pillow. For many years, researchers have tinkered on special techniques to manipulate and massage the back to ease chronic pain in the back. However, as time goes by, it was found that much like the provocative discography, certain techniques can aggravate the condition.

Instead, researchers realized that a supportive back pillow is still a better weapon against back pain such as the Shredded Memory Foam Pillow from My Perfect Nights.

Shredded Memory Foam Back Pillow has memory foam that adapts itself to the posture and position of the body. This way, it customizes itself to the level of support the body needs. It is also firm enough to support the whole weight of the body, but soft enough to provide comforting cushion to the back

Experts say that as science progress, more and more effective techniques are being discovered to address back pain. The Shredded Memory Foam Pillow has  been tested and proven by science to be one of the best ways to mitigate and address back pain.
