27 June, 2014: F&L Designer Guides partner, Jon Dibben, will be one of the jewellers exhibiting their wares at the 2014 Hallmark Salon Exhibition taking place at the end of this month. In a note published on his personal blog, the designer announced his plan to attend the high-profile jewellery event, claiming he was growing accustomed to the up-scale exposure.

The Hallmark Salon is an alternative to the Pavilion exhibition, which attained some renown within the British jewellery scene in recent years. The man behind the creation of both exhibits, Paul Dyson, is a former event coordinator for the Goldsmiths’ Company who later chose to strike out on his own. Both the Pavilion showcase and the Hallmark Salon are used as a way to display the work of the British Isles’ most exciting silversmiths and jewellers.

The Hallmark Salon focuses primarily on bespoke jewellery, particularly pieces with some form of individual design flair. The event entices customers even further by providing them with the opportunity to directly liaise with their favourite designers, whether for a preliminary chat or to directly commission a bespoke piece.

By being present in this festival, Jon Dibben will join 85 other UK-based jewellers and metal-smiths, all especially selected for their ability to offer something new to the jewellery market.

The event will be held at Somerset House, a hub for culture in Central London, which often hosts events such as film festivals and concerts. During the warmer months, the site’s courtyard dazzles visitors with an array of 55 fountains, while the venue’s ice rink draws dozens of avid skaters during the winter..

F&L Designer Guides, of which Jon Dibben is a partner, is a new portal aiming to bring together the most exciting names in the modern British bespoke jewellery market. Founded by a Southwest London couple, the recently-launched website has already managed to form collaborations with a host of skilled jewellers. Acting as a point of contact between customers and jewellers, the portal informs the community about important aspects of the bespoke market, such as the diverse choices of stones or metals.
