ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, August 04, 2016 — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates 11 percent of American children, ages 4 to 17, and 5% of adults are diagnosed with ADHD.  Melissa (Missy) Hood’s new bestseller, Memoirs of an ADHD Mind (God Was a Genius in the Way He Made Me) shares with teachers, family, friends and those with ADHD how to overcome struggles and find success by learning valuable coping skills. Until coping skills are implemented to create the “systematic information filter,” ADHD people are usually in constant chaos.

Attention deficit disorder/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) can make learning difficult for those who struggle with this affliction.  This book is a wellspring of information for teachers, parents and others on how to help ADHD people cope with stress so they can reduce the disruptions in their learning. With the correct tools and techniques, those with ADHD can be helped to achieve greater knowledge and success.

“... I personally find Missy’s book appealing because I observe consistently in my own work helping others in life planning that people’s ability to cope with personal challenges is highly dependent on their strength of character when based on some spiritual context. In this regard, Missy does not see ADHD as a “curse” but rather as a “condition to overcome” knowing that God’s blueprint for her life was perfect.”
~ Foreword written by Omar S. López, PhD.

Losing 40 jobs in 15 years, Melissa (Missy) Hood had suffered and struggled to overcome her ADHD. Missy triumphed over her condition and has gone on to achieve great things. Now she wants to inspire others to do the same. Upon completing her own research study at Texas State University, Missy decided to share her own life story in an autobiography to assist others with the same disorder.

Today Missy is enrolled in Concordia University’s Ed. D Program as she pursues her passion for teaching others in the field of Transformational Leadership. She also continues to coach and help those deemed “less likely to succeed.”

Melissa (Missy) Hood is available for interviews.
