(Mass Media Release) Musicfinity.com has partnered with the I AM Awards to support and encourage unsigned artists from across the UK. Together, the companies aim to give advice, offer training and supply the tools to enable unsigned and self released artists to earn a living in an industry that is notoriously difficult to break.

Musicfinity’s relationship with the I AM Awards will give musicians the foundation and training they need to create and enhance their “Ëœx-factor’. Through public voting, artists that reach the final stages will be given guidance by a 4 person panel, made up of notables from all areas of the music industry, before finding out who is crowned top dog in each of 10 categories. Winners and runners up will continue to be supported by the I AM Foundation and Musicfinity, by creating a solid fan base, facilitating and promoting their gigs and live events and being given the opportunity to have their music featured on some of the internets top download platforms.

Managing Director of Musicfinity.com, Mike Deal commented, “ËœIt can be a hard life as an unsigned artist, trying to build your profile, getting fans and gigs, and most of all, being able to earn a living through the thing you are most passionate about. We want to enable bands and artists that struggle with these things to accomplish their ambitions by giving training, advice and tools to help them promote themselves. We don’twant artists signing up to our site and then finding they are left on their own like most other would!’

“ËœWe believe that our partnership with the I AM Awards will be a big step in helping us accomplish this’

Musicfinity.com is no stranger to awards and competitions for bands, 2 years ago, they ran the hugely successful “ËœUltimate Showcase’ which screened the live final on sky tv.

Winners of that competition, Kairos, commented, “Musicfinity’s ethos in supporting unsigned bands is what gave us a “kick“ to step out and form a band. The Ultimate Showcase saw us on SKY TV, which was broadcasted around the world- any bands dream who are just starting out. The opportunity Musicfinity gave us has opened up doors that wouldn’thave opened otherwise.’

Entry to the I AM Awards opens on the 7th October, bands can enter through www.iamawards.com.

NOTES TO EDITORS

MUSICFINITY.COM
Musicfinity was created by Mike Deal who has previously worked in bands management, music promotion and also ran an independent record label. The site was set up with the vision of creating a portal for the music industry, working with others and creating a social network that would not only benefit each other but generate cash to invest in new music. In 2008 the site hit its peak before being brought to its knees by the recession hitting business partners that were developing the site and causing Musicfinity version 1 to disappear. This only made the company grow stronger in its vision to reach bands and artists alike and in 2009 the site was reborn, now with a specific site for bands, Musicfinity.net and the portal for the rest of the music industry at Musicfinity.com. With a steady increase in bands signing up and some of the best online marketing tools available Musicfinity looks as if it will be going from strength to strength in the coming year.

THE I AM AWARDS
Formed in 2008, our mission is to create the annual I AM awards, London’s self-releasing and unsigned music awards which will provide an outlet to showcase self-releasing and unsigned music talent and lay a foundation of possibility of being successful and unsigned. Proceeds raised from the awards ceremony will be used to create a fund that will give back to the unsigned music community. The aim of the awards is simple. Is that by 2015, ten percent of the UK top 40 chart will be occupied by unsigned artists in the move of standing for a mainstream unsigned official chart for the UK and we’d like you to be part of it. Today, download sales count towards the top 40, meaning that any song available on the internet could become the next number one.
