Here is the thing, not only did South Carolina pulled an dramatic upset against the Crimson Tide, (let’s not forget that the Crimson Tide was giving up to -7 points against the spread) but finished with Alabama’s 19-game winning streak. This is the first time that Alabama’s losses a game since the 2009 Sugar Bowl. And despite head coach Saban’s talent, the great performance that Mark Ingram had last week against Florida, and the solid defense that had been characteristic of the Tide, South Carolina won on fair grounds 35-21 on Saturday.

The AP polls kept on rolling as Ohio State received 34 first place votes. While Alabama’ lost its streak, Ohio State was sweeping Indiana 38-10, keeping up with their 6-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play, as they are the dominating team not only in the Big Ten conference, but in the Nation.

Oregon, received 15 first-place votes and Boise State got 8. Texax Christian University, TCU, received one vote, and despite not playing this weekend, the Oklahoma Sooners received two votes. Now, this is quite a change, because once you do the numbers, you come to realize that Ohio State is now No.1, followed by Oregon, Boise State and TCU. Now, for the first time in a long while, let’s call it a decade, it seems that No. 5 Nebraska is actually could be in their way to actually putting on a fight for the National Championship.

If you are into NCAA football you might have noticed that this Top-5 AP poll is missing something: The SEC teams. This is the first time since November 2nd, 2008, that neither Florida nor Alabama, are taking the No.1 spot in the rankings. The Southeastern Conference had dominated the AP polls during 29 consecutive weeks. Now, giving Florida’s under-par performance, and Alabama’s first lost of the season, Auburn is not the highest rated SEC team in the nation.

This is certainly a refreshing change of pace for the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes had not been this high in the AP polls since the 2007 final regular season poll. At the end, LSU went on to defeat the Buckeyes in the BCS National Championship Bowl game. This was not only a bit unexpected, but you must take into account that this was the first time a team won the National Championship with two losses in the regular season.

Now, may the Buckeyes keep up with their good work and, they could very well be on their way to yet another BCS National Championship. Now, we are going to keep an eye out, as Oklahoma is expected to have one heck of a game against Iowa State. Here is the thing. Oklahoma is now 5-0, and may they defeat Iowa State who is 3-3 so far into the season. A win here might kept on pushing the lines up, and launch Oklahoma into the top 3.

It seems that the Gators are not great swimmers when it comes to dealing with the Crimson Tide. This is one of the fiercest rivalries among NCAA football teams. But this time around, there was not much of a fight. The game was all Alabama.
Mark Ingram, last year’s Heisman Trophy ““Alabama’s first, by the way-, came out to punish the Florida Gators defense. He was a vital part of the 31-6 crushing of the Alabama Crimson tide over Florida. He completed two-touchdowns, completed 12 carriages for a very decent 47 yards and proved once again that he is as swift, agile, and fast as you could expect from a player that could very soon start playing on Sundays.
Urban Meyer has yet to figure out a way to keep Nick Saban’s boys from ruining his tactic plans. As a matter of fact, in his six years in front of the Gators, it has been the Alabama Crimson Tide the team in charge of serving him his most lopsided defeats. The Florida Gators lost by 28 points in Tuscaloosa in 2005 and by 19 points in last years SEC Conference Championship game last year. This time around, Meyer couldn’tfind a way to keep the Tide from devastating its defense.
Be it from the air raids conducted by Greg McElroy, who completed 11 of 17 attempts for 84 yards and no interceptions, or from the game-changing skills shown on the ground play, Alabama was simply superior. Except for the passing yards, were Florida was more dominant (but certainly no too effective) with its 202 passing yards thanks to John Brantley, when it came down to moving the ball down the court, the Tide completed 170 rushing yards, a good chunk of those in the hands of the talented Ingram. The Gators, on the other hand, responded with 79 rushing yards while giving away 4 turnovers.
This is Alabama’s 19th straight victory. The defending champions are looking as strong and versatile as ever before. The Bryant-Denny stadium was hosting somewhere around 101,802 fans. Alabama has claimed 13 National Titles, 22 SEC titles.
Last year Alabama went 12-0 under Nick Saban’s orders. The team then went on to defeat the Florida Gators in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game at the Rose Bowl 32-13. Last season, Alabama defeated 4 ranked teams in their flawless regular season. They could have what it takes to repeat the feat.
Mark Ingram is looking strong as always. He could very well be on his way to his second Heisman Trophy. He is the most versatile and strong NCAA College Football running back in the nation. Might he be able to stay healthy and avoid any more troubles with his knee (which by the way, kept him from playing in his first two games as a Junior) he might be working his way back to the top of the sport. He proved he was back in his two feet with his great game against Duke. Now, if there where any doubts, he has utterly made a mess out of the Gators D. It might just be another great season for the Crimson Tide.

]]> (Submit Articles) The Dallas Cowboy are having some serious issues. Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips and the offensive coordinator Jason Garret were blaming each other for the very unsuccessful offensive play that cost them the win last week against the Washington Redskins. Don’tmind Tony Romo’s 282 passing yards. At the end, in the last play and only 6 points under, the Cowboys had a chance to win it. Romo completed a pass to Roy Williams who was open in the end zone. But there was a yellow flag. There was a holding on Alex Barron. Washington could finally celebrate.
This time around, neither Garret nor Wade Phillips had too many to blame. The team is not working, the game plans are week, and let’s face it, the Chicago Bears were able to brake pass the Cowboys defense like if it was a knife into butter. Wade’s defense had nothing to against the Bears, and that cost him the 27-10 loss against the Chicago Bears.
Let’s put this into perspective. The Cowboys defense had not allowed a single touchdown in three-consecutive regular season games. Jay Cutler, the Bears touchdown, had some issues at the beginning of the game. He certainly was found running for dear life when, early in the game, Cowboys’ linebackers DaMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer had a chance to rough him up a little. As if that was not enough troubles for the Bear’s offensive, the left tackle, Chris Williams was injured in the first quarter.
Now, here is the thing that is a bit upsetting for the Cowboys fans. The 45th annual edition of the NFL championship game, the Super Bowl XLV will be held in the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium in Arlington Texas. But, those local fans are probably not going to be cheering for the home team, as the Cowboys are not playing as they are expected to. At least not if they are really hoping to make it to the post-season, and then keep on with some rhythm into the conference finals and the Super Bowl.
Now, the Cowboys were a 3.5 favorite against the Washington Redskins. And hoping that the team would make use of their hometown advantage and play much harder against the Chicago Cubs, they once again were the favorite against the Bears. The sporstbook industry had set the handicap at -7 points in the spread. Now, this time around, it seems inevitable that they have to go out there and bring a victory. Now, considering their below par performance, thing have changed around for next week when it comes to betting in the NFL.
As of press time, on their next match against the Houston Texans, the Dallas Cowboys are +3 point underdog although laying -120. The Cowboys need to step up and bring on their A-game. The diehard fan might not loose its hope and remember their 0-2 season start of 1993, when the team not only made a complete recovery, and but made it into the postseason and kept its momentum to win the Super Bowl. It is not the same scenario, that’s for sure. But if the Cowboys have any real aspiration for the national title, they have to start by taking the Houston Texans down.

With Portsmouth already in administration, and therefore relegated for chasing the dream of FA Cup glory and premiership respectability, another of Englandâ€â„¢s top-tier survivor wannabeâ€â„¢s, Hull City all but confirmed their relegation with a defeat against Sunderland at the KC stadium. Nothing out of the ordinary there you may think, afterall teams get relegated from leagues all over the world every season. Sadly though Hullâ€â„¢s Chairman Adam Pearson confirmed at the final whistle that the club owed Ã,£35 million to various creditors and had taken cash in advance for the last few seasons. Chasing the dream could, like Portsmouth before them, push them over the edge.

The question is, how in the supposed richest league in the world does a team get into debt and how does that debt get out of hand? In Portsmouthâ€â„¢s case it seems clear-cut. Too many owners of dubious quality and finances in a short period of time, too many hidden deals, too much cash upfront and too much spent in players wages. But Hull is a different proposition. They were rescued in the lowest tier of the football league on the brink of going out of business by Paul Duffen and Russell Bartlett in 2001. On the face of it Hull had a huge and successful run, gaining promotion after promotion and building a new, state of the art stadium. Theyâ€â„¢d never played at the highest level in England and for a city the size of Hull that was criminal. Itâ€â„¢s a strong region for Rugby league and this is probably where their history had been diluted. But nothing in England is stronger than the Premier league and the fan base, which was always there, grew â€Å“Success has a thousand brothersâ€Â¦ failure sadly has none.â€Â One fan noted on the eve of their premiership debut two seasons ago.

Duffen resigned in October and was replaced by Pearson. Almost as soon as he arrived he blamed the last chairman for financial failures, and their manager Phil Brown seemed doomed. He was, lasting only until March. Iain Dowie took over, but sadly didnâ€â„¢t change the results. Hull are now all but mathematically doomed and rather ironically mathematics have all but doomed them.

They now face League one, with a lot of average players. The good ones if there are any, apart from Bullard will be off for little or no money. The only advantage is the shrinking of the wage bill. Itâ€â„¢s a sad predicament for such an ambitious team. But sadly it was always going to end this way.

Chasing the dream of premiership establishment is a costly business. Newcastle United were promoted in 1993 and almost instantly they changed their recent history to one of a â€Ëœbig succesfulâ€â„¢ club. They developed their ground to a 56,000 all seater stadium. They managed to secure a top three finish before the big four had even been thought of. They had very succesful runs in Europe and the league and even bought world record Ã,£15million players. They were riding a crest of a very succesful wave of football optimism in England but they never won anything. There was of course ups and downs, but a couple of mid-table finishes and a few bad management appointments were as bad as it got. Sadly for the Geordie supporters they were bought by a paper billionaire who has a history of supporting another club and were quickly relegated by at best, some naive decisions by the new owners.

fast forward a year and Newcastle have again been promoted and look like a good Championship team. This time though there is no open top bus to celebrate, or massive stadium development and there will definitely not be any world record-breaking signings. Times have certainly changed. Survival is on the lips of every Newcastle united fan, not europe.

The recession is not the only thing to blame, but it certainly is a big factor. England has been hit particularly hard but then again so has Spain, but Madrid and Barcelona can still spend big. In 1993 millionaires used to buy clubs not billionaires. Jack walker for example didnâ€â„¢t have anywhere near a billion when he bought Blackburn. This is the problem, there isnâ€â„¢t a lot of billionaires willing to live in Britain when they can have the weather, lifestyle and tax-free money of places like Monaco. Players wages have reached such a height that you need to have a bank account of billions just to mount an attack on the top of the league. The ones that donâ€â„¢t have that luxury are left to buy or pick up free players who on the whole can be very average for huge wages and are for the most part have little or no love of a club or the area.

We here at SoccerCasuals.co.uk have seen this pattern before in business. Itâ€â„¢s very similar to the huge bank debt crisis of last year. The first reaction of many was to question the governments. Why hadnâ€â„¢t they regulated them better? Why wasnâ€â„¢t there more transparency in how they operated? Well the truth of the matter was the American government were mostly to blame and the rest just followed. But details emerged of how much tax was paid by these big finance companies in the Square Mile. Money is the root of all evil as the saying goes and where thereâ€â„¢s tax, thereâ€â„¢s profit. Basically the banks were allowed to carry on and regulate themselves because they were very, very profitable for the government.

Now look a year or so later and turn your attention to the Premier league and the FA. Theyâ€â„¢ve never been so big, so rich. They have the most profitable league in the world, TV rights are constantly sold at higher prices year on year. This money is then filtered through to the clubs who are free to use it as they wish. Thereâ€â„¢s no real regulation of finance. This means that players are free to earn whatever they want. Afterall if wages were capped it would be illegal by European law, but also the star names wouldnâ€â„¢t venture to exotic locations such as Hull, or Portsmouth and that wouldnâ€â„¢t be good for TV rights deals.

You may think that your Sky tv subscription is the biggest money spinner for the FA but if you look closer youâ€â„¢ll see foreign tv rights in places like China and the Middle East are massive earners. So of course the more highly paid superstar players in the league the more money for the clubs and not least the FA.

As Hull and Portsmouth have recently found out, this money for a hired gun scenario is not sustainable and if the only way you can compete is if your club finds a billionaire with no love or link to your club then youâ€â„¢ll always lose in the end. What will happen to Manchester City and Chelsea when their billionaires leave? Itâ€â„¢ll happen sooner or later and so will the free expendable cash.

Football in england is not cheap, as Liverpoolâ€â„¢s and Newcastleâ€â„¢s owners can testify, but in Liverpoolâ€â„¢s case it may just be profitable when you sell. If thatâ€â„¢s the only way you can muster a profit then the FA premiership is going to struggle. and itâ€â„¢ll be criminal if the powers that be donâ€â„¢t step in and introduce a system that allows the smaller less fashionable clubs to stay afloat and maybe even turn a decent profit.

But will that be as entertaining? Only time will tell.

]]> If you're stuck for something fun to do with the family or with a loved one then going for a day out on the bikes might just be the perfect answer. Here's an activity that means you get to see some scenery, get lots of fresh air, get exercise, get a chance to bond with the others on your trip and get to do something a bit different that you might not have considered. There are certainly things that can go wrong on a bike trip though or detract from the experience and if you want to make it as enjoyable as possible then you need to observe certain tips.

Firstly, you need to think of a way to get all your bikes to the location and the best way to do this is normally with one or several push bike racks for cars. You can always set off from your home and ride in your area, or ride to the scenic area you want to drive in. However for most of us who live in urban areas this isn't always very scenic - it also probably means riding on the road which can be dangerous and if you have children. Additionally you'll be cycling in single file which ruins the sociable nature of the activity somewhat. Then when you get to your actual location you might be very tired. Using one or several bike racks then can be a much better idea as it enables you to store the bikes on top of the car and drive to your location. You can also store other items in the car such as picnic items, a torch if it might get dark, a first aid kit etc etc. This also means that you won't have to be squashed in next to a large bicycle. Another alternative is to rent bikes when you arrive, which is fairly cost effective, though you risk being lumbered with a bike that you're not comfortable with.

And that's another point to consider - making sure that all the bikes are in good condition and that they're suitable for the terrain you're going to be riding on. If you're riding on pavement then racing bikes are a good idea as these are very quick and require the most minimal effort. If you're going to be riding up hills and across bumpy terrain however then you're going to need to use a mountain bike. Make sure as well that all the bikes are in top condition - that all the gears work and that the tyres are fully pumped up. If you do not, then you risk someone lagging behind at the back and having to put in a lot of extra effort which can be unpleasant for them. By checking in advance you ensure this isn't the case and that everyone can enjoy a smooth ride. Obviously you may need to supply stabilisers or a tricycle for some of the less confident cyclists.

Similarly you should check the location you're heading to ahead of time. This way you can ensure that the place is safe and pleasant to ride around and plot a route that will give you the best views etc. If you're planning a romantic day out, then you might want to look into some routes that have romantic spots and views that you can enjoy together. If you time it well you might also be able to enjoy a sunset in some locations. Make sure you're routes aren't too long and taxing however and that everyone on your journey will be able to enjoy them without feeling like they've run a marathon.

In many countries there are more push bikes than cars. So it makes sense that there is also a large market for bike racks of all shapes and sizes

Normally these start at about 20kg, so you might choose to buy a couple and double them up if you're advanced.

Another great item to buy is a pull up bar. This enables you to train your biceps and lats with your own body weight, takes up zero space and costs hardly anything (though you need to damage the door frame so they're not recommended for those who rent).

A bench too is great for combining with the dumbbells for tricep dips, dumbbell presses and flies - and if it can be inclined and reclined then you can knock out hundreds of variations and even use it for suspended sit ups.

When choosing commercial fitness equipment the main consideration is strength. Whereas for personal fitness equipment other things must be considered, such as compatibility and storage.

There are totally 32 teams in the League, which are divided into two conferences: American Football Conference (AFCï¼â€° and National Football Conference ( NFC). The venue is 100 yards long and 53 yards wide. The slender white line in the playing field is called yard line, which is used to help players, referees and spectators to understand the process of the offensive side forward the ball. The most important part of the venue is probably the end zone; it is the area that the score lines of the both sides extend out 10 yards respectively. This area is the scoring area. When the side who holds the ball forwards the ball to the other side’s end zone, they get the score.
NFL's competition rules, both sides send 11 team players respectively, one side is attacking group, and the other side is defensive group.
